Cook still concerns me with his lack of size. Harris and Murray were signed for a reason. We'll see.

Starter - Cook at RB. Gilliam at FB when we use that.

Backups - Harris is the primary backup. Hines for special teams. And I doubt we signed Murray to just release him.

I'm unsure why we need 5 RBs. But we'll have them.

        Bowser PS

        The rest released.

I think Murray can fill Gillian’s role which often times was breaking off like a TE. No need. Harris and Murray are more powerful. Bye Gilliam.

They just extended Gilliam's contract last year and he is a core special teams player. I would be shocked if he got cut.

                Exactly, he's not going anywhere.

Same reason Hines isn't going anywhere, special teams ability.

Really makes me wonder why we bothered kicking the tires of Murray as he has no role here nor do we need him. Even if Cook can't shoulder the majority of the load over a 17 game season, Harris would be able to step in and do it.

                  no doubt

the simple fact that zach 'i like running into my lineman's back' moss is gone is a huge improvement from the beginning of last season

I think they really wanted to add a power back. Maybe they like Harris but don't fully trust him to stay healthy (because he doesn't). Enter Murray as the 4th back that probably doesn't dress unless Harris is out.

                        Re: The RB room

Of the running backs currently on the roster, Isaiah Bowser, James Cook, Damien Harris, Nyheim Hines, and Latavious Murray are all faster than Singletary and Moss. I would add Reggie Gilliam as fullback to Notacon's list of running backs on the 53 man roster. Last year the running backs were Singletary, Cook, Hines, Taiwan Jones, and Gilliam. I don't have any reason to think they won't carry the same number this season. Hines is going to be a return specialist and probably won't be on the field for the offense much more than Taiwan Jones was. I think Cook and Harris are likely to be the backs Buffalo plans to have active each week. Murray makes the 53 man roster, but I don't know how often he'll be active. For him to be active with any regularity would take a philosophical shift on the part of the Bills compared with previous seasons. Bowser is my favorite to make the practice squad. I think Mims gets cut. Gilliam's place on the roster depends solely on how important it is to the Bills to have a true fullback. Murray is big enough, but I'm not sure that the Bills would use him in a fullback role. It's also possible that the Bills could use Quinton Morris as a hybrid fullback/tight end.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.

Special teams does help his cause .... not sure it saves him though.

The extension doesn't mean you have a spot so much anymore.

                            Always choose the better player.

                              Of course.

I don’t even count Gilliam in the “RB” room. He’s all alone in the single player “FB” room.

There is no way they even think about cutting him.
