Bills head coach Sean McDermott has eight years of experience as an NFL defensive coordinator in Philadelphia and Carolina, but in Buffalo, he always delegated the defensive play caller role to someone else. This year is different.
After the departure of former Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier this offseason, McDermott decided to handle the traditional coordinator role himself. McDermott said that he just has to divide up the responsibilities of head coach and coordinator and handle them each in their own way.

I would much rather see us give up deep passes to contested receiver's that a QB consistently throwing to wide open receivers in zones.

Applaud the guy jumping in there, getting dirty, and trying to fix things ... but this is most likely a dumb idea that compounds our problems instead of going in the direction we want.

50 - 50 McDermott is even here another season is where I put it. He's got nothing built to project him forward and a poor performance from the team will end his tenure. On the other hand they can do well and project him forward possibly right into a new contract.

The coaching on game day has never been great under McDermott's tenure can't see my way to thinking this is going to improve things.
