Bills sign a new tight end

The Bills must have had an idea there were going to be health issues for Zach Davidson. They had a tryout player at mini-camp and signed him to the roster spot vacated by moving Davidson to injured reserve. Nick Guggemos is 27 and has bounced around the league for several years as a training camp player for several teams. He was a wide receiver in college and ran a 4.49 40 at 231 lbs. He now carries another 15 lbs on his 6''4" frame. He was released by the Green Bay Packers in May.

I hadn't heard anything about Davidson getting hurt during the OTA'a or mimi-camp, so I assumed it was something that he brought with him.

        That's what I think.

A Guggemos! There's one source of that name who came to the states in the early 1920s after WWI to escape economic hardship in Germany.

He was my Great Great Grandfather.

This guy is the second to be in the NFL. The other was a ST guy who played for the Seahawks for a few years.

Another Flex TE/WR for the slot, in the Kincaid mold. Doesn't hurt for camp.

Whew! What a relief. My hopes for a Bills SB were dashed when I heard Zach Davidson went on IR. This signing restores my optimism that this is the Bills’ year.
