NFL Supplemental draft first time since 2019

The NFL has informed clubs that the supplemental draft will return and take place on July 11, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Friday.

This will be the first year a supplemental draft has taken place since 2019.

One prospect, Purdue wide receiver Milton Wright, has been confirmed to teams as eligible as of now.

The original supplemental draft, held in 1977, was created to serve prospects who were not eligible for the annual spring draft for various reasons.

The last player picked in a supplemental draft was safety Jalen Thompson, who was selected with a fifth-round pick by the Arizona Cardinals.

Listed at 6'3" and 195 lbs. Anticipated speed is around 4.5 in the 40. Sought eligibility for supplemental draft because he was declared academically ineligible for the 2023 college season.

The Bills once traded the #1 pick in the supplemental draft to Cleveland so Cleveland could select Bernie Kosar.

I don't want to blow another asset on a WR, but if either of these guys has potential I'd throw one of our sixths in an envelope.

Both WR's with size, so it would make sense if Buffalo is interested, especially if they think they can spend a 5th or 6th next year.

We currently have two 6th round picks and are projected to get an extra 3rd in compensatory for losing Edmunds in Free Agency.

For those interested Purdue WR Milton Wright did a workout on the 7th for NFL teams, here are his results.

HT: 6'1
WT: 190 lbs
40: 4.69 (tied for worst at NFL combine)
3C: 7.81 (tied for worst at NFL combine)
SS: 4.69
VJ: 31" (2nd worst at NFL combine)
BJ: 10'0" (tied for 3rd worst at NFL combine)

I added his numbers compared to the WR combine workouts. Overall not good.
