Josh Allen loves new receiver Trent Sherfield- Hard-working, doesn't complain - NBC Sports (https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/josh-allen-loves-new-receiver-trent-sherfield-hard-working-doesnt-complain)

The Bills’ No. 1 receiver, Stefon Diggs, skipped voluntary offseason workouts and made it to mandatory minicamp practices only after head coach Sean McDermott said he was “very concerned” about Diggs’ absence. But another wide receiver stood out for his work in the offseason.

That was Trent Sherfield, who signed with the Bills in March after catching 30 passes for 417 yards for the Dolphins last season. Sherfield participated in voluntary work, and Bills quarterback Josh Allen said that Sherfield’s effort impressed his teammates.

“I’ve loved what I’ve seen from Trent so far; the dude works extremely hard. He’s one of the hardest-working guys on the team. [COLOR=var(--color-primary-text)]Doesn’t complain about anything (https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/37893061/2023-nfl-offseason-standouts-every-team) . He’s rolling right now,” Allen said, via Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.

Josh will get the best out of him. Too bad he's only signed for 1 year.

That is the only problem ..... we're gonna love this kid .... 1 year was unfortunate, but can be corrected. :D

The 1-year was because that's probably all he would accept, getting the minimum salary so as to not hurt the comp pick formula.

Oh I'm sure of it.

Just say'n it's a shame we couldn't get a little more at the time .... but that is correctable.

Didn't Dick Jauron say that in the mid-late 2000s? Just seeing that will give me nightmares tonight.

Meh. We'll see how it plays out when the games mean something.

Does this mean Josh just nominated Sherfield for the Kwame Cavil award for this year?

This sure looks like Josh is taking a pretty big swipe at Diggs.

The quote is dripping with it....

"He's (Sherfield) one of the hardest-working guys on the team. Doesn't complain about anything"

Maybe this story has some truth to it….

Does Stefon Diggs’s discontent trace to Josh Allen? (https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/does-stefon-diggss-discontent-trace-to-josh-allen)

Maybe RGBIII is on to something with this speculation (https://www.cincyjungle.com/2023/6/24/23772403/bills-playoff-loss-to-bengals-fractured-bromance-between-josh-allen-and-stefon-diggs-per-rgiii)….

Yeah, Kwame Cavil never made an NFL roster, much less played in an NFL game. Other than that, they're exactly the same...

For the Joique Bell award it is.

I think so?

It's usually an undrafted player, or someone drafted in the late rounds, who's either never played, or maybe got into game action for a few snaps.

He's got decent size, good athleticism and sure hands to go with his hard work. His production with Miami last season may be his floor in Buffalo. I can live with that.

Yeah he'll be playing with a stud at QB. The question is playing time. There are a lot of mouths to feed.

Meh.

I don't know how much stock I put into anything Robert Griffin has to say, but he's right about one thing....Steph is targeted pretty often.

Maybe he needs to be targeted more when the game is on the line, like against Detroit.

OTOH, I've seen him catch a pass and take a dive, so as to not absorb a hit pretty. Happens pretty frequently.

I’m not putting much store into what Griffin has to say....I agree with you. But, he did bring up a pretty good point.

The really is that in the Cincy game Diggs was targeting TEN TIMES, and only had four catches for 35 yards. I did not go back and watch the film (too painful) to see why he missed six passes, but there is a good chance that Josh just lost faith and started ignoring him.

In any event, what JOSH said is what perked my ears up. The “Doesn’t complain much” sure looks like a shot across Diggs bow.

I seriously doubt that. He was sending a loud and clear message.

Who is the most important player on the Bills and WILL be for at least the next 10 year or (hopefully) many more????

Not Stefon Diggs. That’s for sure.

It’s pretty clear that Diggs is not long for this team. When a WR thinks he is the star on a team, and indispensable, disappointment usually follows that hubris.

Tyreek Hill found out. So did Davante Adams. Justin Jefferson is about to.

Josh Allen is the ONE player that makes the Bills a SB contender. WR’s are not.
