Jesus Christ!

We lose Quinn to a ruptured Achilles in the weight room, now we lose Hines in another offseason injury.

Who the **** is training these guys????

Off-site injury. Basketball?

With Harty in the fold, and several other slightly less exciting options (Shakir etc) we should still be OK at returner. But that's a bummer. Hoping it's not an omen that the injury bug is back for a second year in a row.

Off-site injury. Basketball? I read elsewhere that he was sitting on a stationary jet ski and another jet ski collided with him. The freak injury of all freak injuries.

So, do we sign another RB? And if so, who?

The primary role for Hines this season, like last season would have been as a returner. There are guys on the team who can return punts and kickoffs. If Buffalo is looking for a return specialist that they do not use much elsewhere, there are some guys out there. Dontrell Hilliard is one of them. He's got some speed and wouldn't cost much.

No.

They have too many already.

Nyheim Hines' injury occurred when he was hit by a Jet Ski - NBC Sports (https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/nyheim-hines-injury-occurred-when-he-was-hit-by-a-jet-ski)

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that Hines was injured when he was hit (https://twitter.com/TomPelissero/status/1683480142201384962) by someone riding a Jet Ski. Hines was sitting on his own stationary Jet Ski at the time of the crash and suffered serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

Hines joined the Bills in a trade with the Colts last season and appeared in nine games for the AFC East club. The most memorable game of that run came in Week 18 when he returned two kickoffs, including the one opening the game, for touchdowns in a win over the Patriots.

Hines entered the league as a 2018 fourth-round pick and will be trying to work his way back into action for the 2024 season.

That really sucks!!!

For both the team and Hines.

This will definitely be the way Harty makes the roster. The WR room is crowded, but he's a return specialist so his chances just went up.

Do we have to pay him for getting hurt or does this give us the cap space back ?

He gets paid no matter what. Maybe they can file an insurance claim since it was completely non-football related?

I considered him to be just about a lock anyway. He was the guy they went after quickly.

Hines would be a $1.5M savings if cut and offered an injury settlement. His dead cap is $2M and his full cap hit is $3.5M.

JD McKissic is still a FA. The Bills are working out Darrynton Evans today.

Is Hunt still available?

I don’t think Hines injury has any effect of the WR room. At all.

Harty was always going to make the 53 man roster. The six that expected to make the team (barring injury) does not change as a result of Hines injury...

Diggs
Davis
Shakir
Harty
Sherfield
Shorter (unless he totally craps out in TC).

What may happen is the Bills look outside who is already on the (now) 89 man roster for RB help. In particular someone who can catch the ball to give Cook some relief.

Bonus would be someone who can handle ST returns.

Yes. Kinda thought he would have a higher asking price and McKissic fits fine.

Agreed. I wouldn't even take calls from his agent if I was Beane.

That was more the Commanders than McKissic. Besides, it's a business and if he signed, he'd play. Water under the bridge.

Moot point anyway.

Bring on D. Cook and transform the offense around him.

Hunt would be a few dollars more for sure.
