For me it's Kent Hull.

Great center....called all the line signals for the K-Gun offense.

RIP JKH.

Cornelius Bennett
In 14 NFL seasons, Bennett recorded 71.5 sacks, seven interceptions, 112 return yards, 31 forced fumbles, 27 fumble recoveries (third-most in NFL history at the time of his retirement), 78 fumble return yards, and three touchdowns.

a notable career playing in the National Football League (NFL) for the Buffalo Bills, Atlanta Falcons, and Indianapolis Colts from 1986 to 2000. Bennett was elected to numerous All American and All-SEC teams, won the Vince Lombardi Trophy, and received Southeastern Conference (SEC) Player of the Year. In the NFL, he was named Rookie of the Year, made five Super Bowl appearances, and was elected to five Pro Bowl teams. He has been elected to both the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame (https://encyclopediaofalabama.org/article/alabama-sports-hall-of-fame-ashof/) and the College Football Hall of Fame.

Professional career

A seventh round (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1971_NFL_Draft#Round_seven) pick in the 1971 NFL Draft (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1971_NFL_Draft), Chandler played nine seasons with the Buffalo Bills (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffalo_Bills) (1971–1979) and three with the Oakland Raiders (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oakland_Raiders) (who moved to Los Angeles by his final playing season) (1980–1982). He led the NFL in receptions from 1975–1977 with 176, and was named Second-team All-Pro in 1975 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1975_NFL_season) and 1977 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1977_NFL_season). He also caught four passes for 77 yards in the Raiders' (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1980_Oakland_Raiders_season) 27–10 Super Bowl XV (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Bowl_XV) victory over the Philadelphia Eagles (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1980_Philadelphia_Eagles_season) in January 1981.[3] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Chandler#cite_note-tnolft-3)
In the first game of the 1981 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1981_Oakland_Raiders_season) season against the Denver Broncos (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1981_Denver_Broncos_season), Chandler stretched out for a pass and took a hit so severe it ruptured his spleen (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spleen).[4] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Chandler#cite_note-ciacar-4) Chandler was rushed to a Denver hospital where doctors saved his life. Chandler made a miraculous recovery and returned to the field later in the season, appearing in a total of eleven regular season games.[citation needed (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)]. Though he wasn't able to return right away as a receiver, he was able to resume his normal duties holding the ball for Raiders placekicker Chris Bahr (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Bahr).[5] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Chandler#cite_note-5)
In his rookie season of 1971, Chandler saw action in only a handful of games, finishing the season five receptions for 60 yards. Bills coach Harvey Johnson (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harvey_Johnson_(coach)) was dismissed at the end of the season and the Bills named Lou Saban (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lou_Saban) as their new head coach. Saban began to use Chandler more in the offense, as Chandler was a starter in all 14 games that season. He scored his first professional touchdown in a 38-14 blow out of the New England Patriots (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_England_Patriots). The opposing quarterback that day was Jim Plunkett (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Plunkett), who would be Chandler's teammate on the Raiders several years later.[6] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Chandler#cite_note-6) Over the next several seasons for Buffalo, Chandler would be one of the core starters and a favorite target of Bills quarterback Joe Ferguson (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Ferguson). Chandler's role was greatly reduced under coach Chuck Knox (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuck_Knox) in 1979. Knox preferred a solid ground game over the passing game. In 1980, Chandler was traded to the Raiders for LB Phil Villapiano (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phil_Villapiano) and was part of a Raiders team that won Super Bowl XV.
He retired in July 1983;[4] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Chandler#cite_note-ciacar-4) for his career, he had 370 receptions for 5,243 yards and 48 touchdowns, along with 11 carries for 18 yards.

Kent Hull is a good choice but I have no idea how to fairly rate OL for HOF.

Tasker first. Then Hull. Both deserve it.

Tasker changed the game, literally. He certainly had more affect on a weekly basis and over a career than any non-kicking special teams players that are on the 80's and 90's All-Decade teams.

Hull is a personal favorite and I believe he belongs, but his peers at the time all belong too (Stephenson, Webster, Dawson, Stepnoski).

He didn't have a long career but Robert James will always hold a special spot.

I think all the Bills that needed to get in have gotten in. If we get another then it will likely come due to a down class year.

Gotta wonder how many more Bills would be in the HOF if they had walked away with just one ring.

You already made the point well but just to add to it: At a time when S/T was an afterthought, Marv Levy always said that he put equal emphasis on all 3 phases of the game. He was able to do that because he had Steve Tasker.

Hull, Bisquit and Moulds are all good choices and I hope they all get in. But Marv Levy is a HOF coach and Tasker was so good that it allowed him to take a completely unconventional approach to the game, and force his opponents to adjust to that (or, at least attempt to).

Fair point. The Bills should have won the first one against NJ-A.

The ‘91 Washington team was quite possibly the best team in NFL history, and the ‘92 Dallas team wasn’t far behind. They were better teams and we weren’t going to win.

In ‘93, Buffalo beat Dallas in the reg season, in Dallas. In that last SB, we were winning at halftime. Then, early in the 2nd, Kelly threw a pick-6 that allowed Dallas to take the lead. The PTSD from all the turnovers the previous year took over, and the Bills fell apart.

They really should have won 2 of the 4, and history would be a lot different if they had one at least one.

Kent Hull definitely.

And if we're gonna go back in team history, Elbert Dubenion.

Dude put up some ridiculous numbers when the game was way different than it is today. I think the main reason he's not in the HOF is because he only played in the AFL and lots of guys get ignored because of that.

Tasker. It's been so close for so long that it's a meme at this point. Put the man in ffs.

I think Billy Shaw may be the only HOF member that played exclusively in the AFL.

How about Ahmad Rashad?

True he only played one year here, but he had a great career.

I've got a laundry list of Bills I'd like to see make the HOF

As a myopic Bills homer, I get not all these guys are HOF material but they're at least on the cusp.

Steve Tasker (not on the cusp, he simply deserves to make the HOF)
Kent Hull
Cornelius Bennett
Fred Smerlas
Darryl Talley
Ruben Brown (a great career as a guard that's super underrated)

All these old timers mentioned deserve it. But right now it's Tasker because he's alive and deserving with Hull a close second for me.

If I remember correctly it was a Thurman Thomas fumble (close to mid-field) in the 3rd quarter that changed the whole game. I don't Thomas returned due to migraines, and we all know the rest of the story..

Smerlas is an interesting choice, Joe.

Great player on some really rotten Bills teams.

Ron McDole. Key cog in those dominant Bills defenses of the 60s. Went to Washington kept up the pace for another decade in the 70s

His daughter Tammy has launched an internet campaign to that very end.

Good choice.

Kent Hull is my vote. Bennett is arguable. If special teamers start getting in Tasker should be first, but I'm not sure I'm on board w that. Moulds is a no for me, but I'd argue he could have been one of the best ever on a good team. But he wasn't. Id say our most talented wr ever.
