Dolphins are expected to explore a trade for Jonathan Taylor

Report- Dolphins are expected to explore a trade for Jonathan Taylor - NBC Sports

Presumably, Taylor would want a new contract from any team he’s traded to. He’s about to enter the last year of his rookie deal after the Colts selected him in the second round of the 2020 draft.
Dealing with an ankle injury last season, Taylor rushed for 861 yards with four touchdowns in 11 games. Back in 2021, Taylor was a first-team All-Pro when he led the league with 1,811 rushing yards and 18 rushing touchdowns along with 2,171 yards from scrimmage and 20 total TDs.

Former President Donald Trump early Thursday touted the results of a new NPR/PBSNewsHour/Marist poll showing him ahead of President Joe Biden by 8 percentage points among independents.

Wouldn’t like that, but not sure it makes much sense considering they have to re-sign Tua in a year or two.

There should be a few dozen teams interested in him.

Don't like that. Our division is going to be tough.

He's one back that could get his former team some heavy compensation .... not to mention a pretty damn good contract for himself.

This could turn into a bidding war very quickly.

The Colts will get plenty of offers and somebody would be willing to pay more than the Dolphins ...... that's my take on it.

Fins backs are pretty good already… but spend away.

I’ll believe that Taylor is traded after it’s done.

RB’s relative value (salary and trade value) has never been lower. The Colts are appeasing him and daring him to find a team that will give up assets in a trade and pay him what HE thinks he’s worth.

As we have seen time and time again this offseason the difference between what RB’s think they are worth and that teams are willing to pay is a wide gulf.

Miami could be stupid enough to go all in and put themselves in cap hell for years to come, but until Tua can prove he can stay upright they are playing with fire that will undoubtably backfire.

Tyreek Hill’s cap number EXPLODES next season. So does Jalen Ramsey’s. AND Bradley Chubb’s. All of them with equal hefty guaranteed salaries. Xavien Howard’s cap number explodes too, but no guaranteed salary.

All that going into Tua’s last year of his rookie contract.

                  Good luck with that Miami.

Did I miss a new rule that states that all top-end talent must either remain in or go to the AFC?

its not Taylors talent its his wanting a huge contract that will keep the teams down that will be interested in him, no one wants to pay a running back 20 mil a year..

I sincerely doubt it. The Colts are asking a 1st rounder plus for Taylor. Not only is his ankle still a question mark then you have to pay him. Nobody wants to really pay RB's anymore. They're like Bic shavers....disposable. You use them until the rookie deal is over and then...draft another.

There's interest ..... by exactly by how many or who I'm only sure of the Dolphins.

If we could maneuver several contracts to get him ....... would you?

                          Would you go all in?

It might take a 1st or 2 second rounders as comp ...... with the way we draft I'd at least consider it.

Just imagine Jonathan Taylor in our backfield.

actually the Colts are asking for at least a 2nd rounder but its not gonna matter, the guy isn't gonna get what he wants and I don't see Miami signing him either.... they don't no what Tua is gonna bring this year and he might demand a 50 mil a year contract...

If I was a betting man Id say Taylor ends up playing for the Colts this year then gets traded in the off season.

Tua is one hit away from forced retirement, he can dream about 50m a year
