Starting at 12:00 pm ET on August 30th, teams can begin signing players to their practice squads.

Teams have until Wednesday at 12:00 noon to claim unvested players that have been waived. Vested veterans (players with a minimum of 4 accrued seasons) will be free agents immediately and are able to sign with any team.

NFL practice squads currently consist of 16 players.

The Bills have begun to assemble their 16-man practice squad and wide receiver Andy Isabella, a free agent who was not subject to waivers and could have signed with any team, has reportedly agreed to return.

Isabella earned respect in the locker room for his diligent work in learning the playbook, and though he didn’t show a whole lot in the preseason games, he obviously thinks Buffalo is a good place for him.

Tight end Joel Wilson, offensive lineman Richard Gouraige, defensive tackles D.J. Dale and Eli Ankou, edge rusher Kameron Cline and cornerbacks Ja’Marcus Ingram and Kyron Brown are among the players who have reportedly agreed to come back to Buffalo to join the Bills’ practice squad and more will be on the way.

When you have a Super Bowl-contending team as the Buffalo Bills do, other teams around the league are going to pay attention to the players you send into the open market, and on Wednesday five Bills found new homes.
The Vikings signed offensive tackle David Quessenberry to their 53-man roster, pending a physical; the Texans made waiver claims on both of Buffalo’s 2023 seventh-round draft picks, cornerback Alex Austin and offensive lineman Nick Broeker; the Packers claimed defensive back Zayne Anderson; and the Saints grabbed running back Jordan Mims.
