If all the coaches in the league mean what they say that special teams is one third of the game, then Steve is a cinch to make it in, right?

Somehow I don't think it will happen... Somehow the media will mess it up.

If an offensive lineman can get in, why not a special teams player.

no doubt Tasker will make the Hall

I don't think he merits a HOF spot. I may be in the minority, but the HOF is for the very top of the elite players. I don't think Steve Tasker, despite his excellent play, ever reached that level.
If he were that good he would have been an everyday starter at WR.

Only 1 place kicker and zero punters are in...so it doesn't look good.

Steve Tasker defined great special teams play! Also he was if not the best obe of the best ever special teams player. If greatness defines your position then he as a special team member should be in! Also not that it matter but Sam Gash thought he should be in!:)

If you can save a roster spot for a special teams player like Antonio Brown... can you save a hall spot for one like Tasker? IMO you should.

No doubt whatsoever that he will be in the HOF.
He is the definition of special teams.

Offensive linemen play half the plays of a game and games are won and lost in the trenches. Speacial teamers play about 10 plays a game. While there is an ocasional game changing play on speacial teams it isn't a common occurance.

I think he definatly gets in because of the way he changed the games making it so there are players who only play ST. There is no way the NFL keeps kickers out for too long, think of it this way everyone knows Hank Aaron has produced the most points in baseball, only kickers really have a shot at becoming the all-time leading scorer in the NFL. Can you really keep you all tie leading scorer (Gary Anderson) out of the Hall of Fame? Once they start going in the Taskers and the Punters will be in as well. Also after Takser I think the special teamer that follows him in is Brian Mitchell too.

Exactly. He wasn't good enough so he played ST.

Ok, Let me get this straight a person who is "not good enough for twenty to twenty-five plays a game yet just about defines what a special teams player is is not hof material. It does not make sense since thoes four or five plays a game could go a long way in determing the outcome of the game. Tasker deserves to be in HOF.

I'd love to see him make it in, but if he does get in, I think it'll be many years down the road as a Seniors candidate...like with Billy Shaw.
