View Full Version : Josh Allen on Ken Dorsey: We’ve got to be better for him

“I think we have a very good rapport in terms of him knowing what I don’t like and what I like,” Allen said, via Katherine Fitzgerald of The Buffalo News. “Obviously, getting to familiar stuff that our guys like that we’ve ran a lot in the past, I think that’s something that any offense can benefit from running familiar concepts and trusting the guys out on the field. And it comes down to the guys executing it.

“He can call literally anything on his playbook. He should be able to point at any given play and we should go out there and try to execute it and execute it to the best of our ability. And so, again, that comes down to the guys on the field. And, you know, we’ve got to be better for him (https://buffalonews.com/sports/bills/bills-qb-josh-allen-much-improved-on-shoulder-full-participant-thursday/article_6fa67050-7f41-11ee-af73-879db286e92e.html).”

Allen is completing a career-high 71.3 percent of his passes but has also thrown a league-high nine interceptions. He’s passed for 2,423 yards with 18 touchdowns and rushed for 233 yards with six TDs so far this year.

Josh's turnovers are a big part of the problem.

So is Dorsey. But Josh is not going to call out his coach in front of the media.

The turnovers although they do suck wouldn’t be horrible since it’s a passing league (a bunch of guys have 7-8 including Tua, Mahomes, and Hurts) if we had put say 4-5 more tuddys up thus far (we’d likely have at least two more wins since our largest margin of defeat is 6 points).

What concerns me a bit (could just be reading too deeply into it) is the “what I like or don’t like” but. We know Josh likes to show off the rocket launcher by taking longer/impossible shots, hopefully that’s not a like that Dorsey indulges as opposed to a more efficient attack.

Josh has a boyscout image (which is certainly far better than that of a malcontent), therefore he’s not chucking anyone under the bus.

That’s McDermott’s/Beanies/Pegula’s job

Without week one turnovers is less an issue.

Josh is much more a problem than Dorsey. He's the one out there making boneheaded decisions WAY too many times.

Turnovers are killing the Bills. But, the lack of takeaways is equally as bad.

After Cincy: Buffalo has just one takeaway in its last four games after having 13 in the first five.

THE difference in the Cincy game was turnovers. Even though the INT did not directly lead to Cincy points, it was a huge gift is so much that every drive is valuable. Of course, the Kincaid fumble was DEVASTATING. The LACK of turnovers by Cincy was huge.

The NE game, the Pats fell into holes early in every of their 5 loses, going behind 16-0, 10-0, 10-3, 21-0 & 10-0 early in games. The only win (before the Bills game) they went ahead 10-0.

THE thing that could breath life into that team was going ahead early. Josh Allen GIFTED them a 10-0 lead.

He just called out himself and that's a move in the right direction.

For what it's worth I see it as progress.

They need to play better for Ken Dorsey?

Cringe.

Man McD has completely lost these guys if that's the rally cry now.

I see it as admitting to failure of execution on their parts.

No changes in coaching will take place until after the season.

There is such a fine line between success and failure.

While there is blame to go all around, KD needs to scheme these guys in positions to succeed more often. I'm hearing JA say that they need to win their one on one battles. They don't really have the studs to do that regularly, outside of Diggs and the emerging Kincaid. Now with Allen running less, our mismatches are even fewer. It is up to Dorsey to create them and it's just not happening.

In a nutshell ..... gotta create for who we have ..... Josh is a weapon use him when it's right .... use em all!

Create for who we have depending on who we are going up against.

It doesn't seem like we find and exploit the mismatches. We just do what we do until someone gets open.

Unleash the no huddle. They thrive in it. Do it and break past McDermott's horror.

That is where the obvious mismatch is, if they are willing to let Josh run. No substitutions with the no huddle but our lack of a ground game without Allen running limits the dual threat.

I would love to see that as well .... keep the defense on the field as long as possible .... gas em.

This team is just brutal to watch. You have Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, Dalton Kincaid, and enough serviceable talent around them to do great things on offense, but they’ve looked like ass since the Dolphins game. Nothing this team does comes easy, unlike past years where we would just take games (2021) or halves (2022) off but flip the switch and make it look easy when needed. Watching the offense is like trying to squeeze out a turd when you’re constipated.

Diggs can't complain publicly, as he is wanton to do, because he leads the league in receptions. The Bills found a way to keep him quiet while they bumble around. LOL.
