Turnovers bite Bills; penalties give Broncos second life

ORCHARD PARK — The Bills needed a miracle. Instead, they handed one to the Denver Broncos on Monday night.

In a game Buffalo badly needed in order to keep pace in the AFC playoff race, the Bills’ offense played hot potato with the football. Buffalo lost the turnover battle by a 4-1 margin. And while much closer, the final score still favored Denver, 24-22.

Trailing all night until a Josh Allen touchdown run with 1:55 remaining and a Tyler Bass extra point, Highmark Stadium let out a roar that reflected as much relief as excitement when Denver’s Will Lutz missed a 41-yard field goal with four seconds remaining.
