Reggie Gilliam is the AFC special teams player of the week

After a tumultuous week that featured the firing of offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey, the Bills needed to get off to a good start against the Jets last Sunday and fullback Reggie Gilliam helped make that happen.

Gilliam’s hit on Jets kickoff returner Xavier Gipson on the opening kickoff separated Gipson from the ball and the Bills recovered in scoring position. The Bills turned the turnover into a 3-0 lead and Buffalo was off and running on a 32-6 win.

“Reggie Gilliam set the tone on play one. That’s what it came down to,” quarterback Josh Allen said after the game, via the team’s website.

“It breaks your heart when someone leaves and you don’t know why.”

Former President Donald Trump early Thursday touted the results of a new NPR/PBSNewsHour/Marist poll showing him ahead of President Joe Biden by 8 percentage points among independents.

Not saying it wasn't a great hit, but he got it just for that? Must have been a slow STs week...

Ethan Evans nabs first NFC special teams player

The Rams got their fourth win of the season with Sunday’s over the Seahawks with some strong contributions from special teams.
Now rookie punter Ethan Evans has been named NFC special teams player of the week.
Evans had the conference’s longest punt last weekend, sending one of his five punts 65 yards. He averaged 52.6 yards on those five attempts with a 47.6-yard net average.
A seventh-round pick out of Wingate, Evans is averaging 49.0 yards per punt with a net average of 41.2. He’s had 13 of his punts downed inside the 20.
This is his first career player of the week award.
