On a fourth-and-1 on Sunday, as the Eagles lined up for their tush push quarterback sneak, Bills defensive tackle Jordan Phillips blew up the play before the ball was snapped, plowing into Eagles guard Cam Jurgens and knocking him to the ground. Phillips was flagged for jumping offside, but Eagles center Jason Kelce said Phillips got off easy.

We should've done that 15 times when they were lined up for the tush push at the 1 yard line.

That might be the only answer .... punish them relentlessly.

He's going to get more than fined, I bet he gets suspended. He pushed a fan behind The Bills' bench during the game.

Bottom line? The guy is a moron who has had multiple dumb penalties that have cost the team due to his inability to keep his composure.

Bills' Shaq Lawson apologizes after appearing to shove Eagles fan following loss: 'Our emotions boiled over'

Bills (https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/teams/BUF/buffalo-bills/) defensive end Shaq Lawson (https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/players/1983523/shaq-lawson/) let his emotions get the better of him after Sunday's overtime loss in Philadelphia.

Following that 37-34 overtime defeat, an altercation was caught on camera between a collection of Buffalo players and Eagles (https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/teams/PHI/philadelphia-eagles/) fans. Defensive tackle Jordan Phillips (https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/players/1886787/jordan-phillips/) can be seen walking away from the sideline and toward the stands while he's jawing with a particular Eagles fan. Lawson then came into that altercation from Phillips' right and appeared to shove the fan. Bills players were quick to grab Lawson and escort him back to the sideline before the situation escalated further. Phillips also retreated toward the bench but continued to exchange verbal blows with the fan as Leonard Floyd (https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/players/2061110/leonard-floyd/) ushered him back.

Lawson took to Instagram to apologize for the incident.

"Those of you who know me know that I'm all about the fans, and I have a lot of respect for the game I play and my opponents," Lawson wrote, per ESPN (https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/38992901/bills-shaq-lawson-confronting-fan-made-mistake). "Before the game started yesterday, there was a fan behind our bench, who was making life threatening remarks towards us and our families. We asked Philadelphia security to remove the fan, but he was allowed to stay for the entire game. Eventually, our emotions boiled over, and I made a mistake. For that, I apologize, but there are certain lines that should not be crossed."

Like they didn't get enough calls from the refs...

Don't worry Jace, the "tush push/Brotherly Shove" will be outlawed over the off-season.

I hope we finally draft a DT so we can move on from this guy.

We should have one in the system already developing. We keep coming with these free agent JAGs like Settle, Phillips and Ford.

Why someone didn't grab Joseph in the offseason is baffling because he's been a huge help. He's no JAG.

I wouldn't be surprised if McClappy scratches Phillips and brings Ankou up.

And Jonathan up for Lawson.

I cannot stand the "tush push". It's not supposed to be rugby. No sympathy for the Eagles on this at all.

Do you really?...

These guys are morons at drafting DL's (amongst most other things)

I’ve got no problem with the tush push. Every team should adopt it as it will make the game more interesting.

Kelce can fluff right off. Phillips although he is a donkey prone to eeyoreing on too regular of a basis did nothing wrong on that play…Kelce false started and wasn’t caught by the refs (I know shocker).

It's a matter of player safety. Or so they say.

We should've done that 15 times when they were lined up for the tush push at the 1 yard line.

Somebody should do it with the entire line, every time they are in that formation. Just keep rocking them back, the oline is eventually going to get jittery.

Huh?

The only bad pick was Basham and I remember being in the minority who thought it was a bad pick.

Oliver and Harrison Phillips are the only DT's they've drafted and neither of them are bad.

I'd rather have H. Phillips than Settle, for sure.

Harrison Phillips and Ed Oliver.

I'm not sure he's contributing enough to the defense to warrant keeping him on the roster next season.

Report: Bills fine Shaq Lawson for shoving fan in Philadelphia

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that the Bills have fined (https://twitter.com/TomPelissero/status/1733210696056275073) Lawson. The amount of the fine was not reported, but Pelissero adds that the matter is now considered closed.

That indicates the league will not be taking any further action against Lawson, who said that the fan in question was “making life threatening remarks towards us (https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/shaq-lawson-i-apologize-for-shoving-fan-but-certain-lines-shouldnt-be-crossed) and our families.”

I re-watched and obviously you were right. It looked like Phillips did it, but it was Lawson from behind Phillips.

I take it back, Jordan.

Also, Kelce can suck a fart.

I’ve got no problem with the tush push. Every team should adopt it as it will make the game more interesting.

There are two big arguments against it. And for the record, I'm just playing devil's advocate. I don't feel strongly either way.

The first is the safety issue. The likelihood of injury on that play is far greater than on most normal plays, and the player most at risk is the QB. In every other instance, the league has adjusted the rules to protect the QB.

The other is that there's virtually nothing the D can do to stop it. It's almost unfair. They outlawed goaltending in basketball because if they didn't, ever team would just get some 7'6" center to stand under the basket and swat jump shots away. They made PI a penalty in football because it would be impossible to catch the ball if the defender was allowed to swat the receiver's hands away. Granted, these situations only happen a few times a game, but it is a huge advantage for the O.
