In 2021, Miller was under investigation (https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/31011670/no-charges-filed-denver-broncos-lb-von-miller) by the Parker, Colo., police department, but the 18th Judicial District, the district attorney's office for the city, declined to move forward with charges against Miller. Details surrounding the investigation were not disclosed by authorities, and Miller remained on the Broncos team for that upcoming season.

Not good news for Von or the team. Can we escape his cap hit if he's in jail?

I'll hold judgement until it plays itself out. If it's true I hope there's a way out of his contract.

This will hurt him in future as he has aspirations to be a Gm

There has to be a conduct clause. I mean if not… legal department needs an overhaul

Hey 2 tackles and 1 QB hit in 8 games isn’t nothing… close but not nothing.

Disappointing if true.

All men should learn from an early age to be respectful towards women, it seems like an outsized number of high level athletes don’t get taught that lesson or forget it once they achieve fame/wealth?

I am unaware of the laws in Texas, but is it a state where you are automatically charged with domestic battery if the cops are called and they see any type of proof?

I'm not saying he's innocent, or guilty, but I will wait and hope that it's untrue. If it is true, The Bills need to cut ties.

Standard contract language includes domestic violence as "conduct unbecoming" and is grounds for termination of the contract.

Thankfully he didn't choke any of his chickens!

This, combined with coming off a serious injury and his age, likely will spell the end of Miller's career.

He has a 32m dead cap hit next or would cost 23m against the cap if he was here, hopefully there is a clause in his contract that this allows us to get out of it.

Would be very helpful in getting under the cap for next season.

Hopefully this is true, otherwise it's something like a $32 mil dead cap hit for next season.

I'm pretty sure if you get suspended the team can recoup that lost income back to the cap for every game missed. I believe this happened with Dareus when he was suspended for four games or so.

According to the Dallas Morning News an arrest-warrant affidavit says Miller shoved his girlfriend as she yelled “stop, I’m pregnant” and then put his hand on her neck, applying pressure for 3 to 5 seconds. He later wrapped both hands around her neck, according to the affidavit.

Women getting assaulted sexually and otherwise is a huge problem in this country and around the world. Slowly the culture seems to be waking up that this is not ok and more women are reporting it when they are assaulted. If this report is true I hope he never takes another snap with the Bills and his contract is terminated. Bye.

That's infuriating. I know it's one side of the story so I'll keep my mouth shut.

Dareus was suspended for banned substances, right? NFLPA would never let that be a terminable act.

Yeah definitely need a wait and see approach here. Seems pretty out of his public character, but I guess you never know.

Note that we cut ties with the punt god on the basis of a civil complaint with no criminal charges. The team clearly has a bigger commitment to Von, but nonetheless I'd wager that unless some exculpatory info comes out soon, Von won't be on the roster for the Chiefs game. Hurting a pregnant girlfriend is a real bad look.

Miller’s contract allows the Bills to void the guarantees if he is suspended under the Personal Conduct Policy.

They can void his guarantees if he's suspended under Personal Conduct policy by the NFL but they can't release him because he's a 23 million cap hit until 2025.

There has to be standard language in every NFL contract that protects the team financially in situations like this.

Next year is a rebuilding year. They should try find a way to take the hit to be 100% free of him in 2025.
