What does happen is that WR's will sometimes check with the refs by looking their way to assure they are on-sides.

Offensive off-sides is rarely called, because WR's rarely are that stupid to line up so obviously off-sides!!!

Many times, refs do "warn" a player if he's off-sides, but ALWAYS when a player LOOKS to the refs for guidance Toney did NOT do that.

This was 100% TONEY'S FAULT. Period.

To NOT call it would have been scandalously bad!!!

I almost didn't have time to write my picks this week and that's because I was way too busy writing an email to Roger Goodell.

We can't have the officials correctly throwing penalty flags on guys who deserve it, that might actually make the refs look competent and I won't stand for it. I have written a lengthy email to Goodell to let him know that we need refs who are less competent than what we saw Sunday. We want refs who aren't competent, right? Or do we actually want competent refs? Guys, I'll be honest, I can't even keep track anymore.

If you're wondering why Mahomes and the Chiefs were so upset about the call, even though it is indeed the correct call, is the fact it's rarely ever called and the league's officiating shows how inconsistent they are with calling anything, let alone offensive offsides within the same week.

I have no issue with the penalty being called, even if it would have been called on us and the roles were reversed, what I have a problem with is the complete and total inconsistency of the refs in this league.

At the midfield handshake he was ranting about the "bull***** offensive holding call" instead of saying good game and moving on. It was a really bad look. The rest of it could be forgiven in the heat of the moment and anger at a frustrating loss, but that was a b*tch move to complain to Josh about it.
