If Bills and Chiefs finish same place in their divisions this year...

Do the Bills have to go back to Arrowhead yet again next year?

It wouldn't be an NFL season without the Bills in KC.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing upset Chiefs walking off at arrowhead… except Dolphin collapses. Those are the best

If it turns out that we play KC on our schedule.

            (24) Next year in Buffalo for sure.

            (25) The year after if we finish in the same position in the division as KC we play them in Buffalo.

            (26) The year after the same.

So if we play them during the regular season and next season is already locked in ..... the next 2 years we would only be able to play them in Buffalo as long as we both finish in the same position in our respective divisions.

After the 2024 season we play the Western division team that finishes in the same position that we do.

For example if we finish 1st in our division in 2024 we play the 1st place finisher of the Western division in Buffalo and that could be KC.

Another example if we finish 2nd in the AFC East in the 2024 season we play the 2nd place finisher in the AFC West.

The above scenarios also apply to the 2025 season.

Long story short we can not play KC in KC during the regular season for the next 3 seasons.

We could play them of course in KC during the playoffs that depends on record.

The seasonal schedule depends on position in the division.

Would you say that we have a plethora of joy in those moments.

                  Good topic Chet.

WGR published an explainer in late 2022...

Why do Bills keep playing Chiefs in Kansas City?

Here is a "futures" table for the Bills up to 2027...
