Keenan Allen remains out of practice for Chargers

Wide receiver Keenan Allen may not be available for Giff Smith’s debut as the Chargers interim head coach.
Allen did not play in Brandon Staley’s final game as the team’s head coach because of a heel injury and he did not practice on Tuesday for the same reason. The Chargers will host the Bills on Saturday night.
Edge rusher Khalil Mack was also out of practice, but he was listed as resting rather than sitting due to injury. Defensive back Deane Leonard (heel) was the only other non-participant.

WR Keenan Allen who was once again a non-participant for the second practice in a row. He’s been dealing with a heel injury that kept him out of last week’s Thursday night game against the Raiders, the one that ended up being the last in which he’d be coached by Brandon Staley. After missing both Tuesday and Wednesday’s session, it’s likely he’ll miss this week’s game against the Bills, too.

Chargers receiver Keenan Allen (heel) will not play Saturday against the Bills.
The Chargers ruled him out Thursday. Allen also missed last Thursday’s game against the Raiders. He needs 151 yards to set a new single-season high in receiving yards. His 108 catches still leads the NFL, and he has 1,243 yards and seven touchdowns.

The Chargers also ruled out edge rusher Joey Bosa, who just returned to practice Thursday and remains on injured reserve. He had a limited session as he works his way back from a foot injury.
