It would have been GM malpractice to sign Araiza the week before a huge divisional playoff game.

He has only had ONE punt in the NFL....TWO seasons ago in the first pre-season game of 2022.

Matt Haack is a known entity, as in being on the team in the past (little trivia...int eh only NFL "game" Araiza had a punt, Matt Haack also had one), and has 432 punts in actual NFL games.

Another smart move by Brandon Beane (with assists by the Bills coaches that were assuredly consulted before this was done)

It was the only logical move. He’s experienced in both punting and holding. The coaching staff being familiar with him is a bonus.

I honestly hope Araiza gets a chance to go to a camp next year and try to reclaim
a career. But it’s not going to start in a playoff game.

I fully expected this move.
