In hoping injury over age and he’ll be fine next year. Regardless we need to draft a stud in the first round in April. No excuses not to. None.

Get tee Higgins. Problem is we can’t really move off diggs until after next year unless they want to eat a huge cap hit to not have him. He’s a huge cap hit whether we keep him or not.

Its pretty clear that we need to invest massive resources into a #1 WR. A big time player. Like... trade up and spend picks doing it to get a guy that we want. We need it. It is our biggest weakness at this point.

He's $31 million dead cap next year. We have an out after next season, I don't think he's getting moved.

Diggs doesn't deserve the shade we're all giving him. He's been banged up. Its pretty clear just looking at him. And he's not the type (Josh is the same way) to even discuss a nagging injury. You couldn't pay him not to play. I have no question about his will to win.

But i see what i see. Its pretty clear to me that we need to get a monster WR. And we're going to need to draft really well now. Cheap, good talent is at a premium for us.

And we're going to have to move off of Von, Tre and Steph as fast as humanly possible. Its going to sting! And i don't think a lot of it can even happen this offseason. I think we're stuck with most of it for a bit.

It is what it is. No reason to be mad about it. We just have to figure it out.

^ buddy he let the best throw I’ve ever seen fall in between his arms. The game is completely different if he catches that. For a guy who love to bark at others, you have to make plays when your time comes. Josh wasn’t giving it to him on the sideline either like diggs did to Allen against cin. That was probably the biggest missed opportunity of the game.

Yep. I was. I don't see how they can move on from him when his cap hit goes up if they do and we're already so far over. Same with Von Miller.

Diggs is not the issue. The issue is you can't fix stupid. When calling a fake punt on your own 30 in a playoff game in the middle of the 3rd quarter. Like not managing the clock and play calling when you're in charge to control the game move the ball inside the 20 with almost time left. All I can say is, I can't fix stupid.

Yes, the fake was dumb but it was the 4th Q and we were not in control of the game. Secondly, Diggs is an issue. He's done nothing for games. He almost ****ed us right at the start with a fumble. He dropped passes right in his hands. He has a 31 mill cap hit. He most certainly IS and issue.

Remember when everyone was like "OH man Diggs was right, oh man, we should apologize to Diggs" at the start of the year?

LOL you idiots. He's a Diva. He plays WHEN HE WANTS. He pouts when stuff doesn't go his way, but when he drops a completely wide open bomb, he just laughs and holds two fingers close together as if to say "Oh man, that was so close".

This guy needs to go. I don't care what anyone says. I'll take 1000 Gabe Davis' who don't whine or complain and just do their job, over 1 of that complete asshat Diggs.

Go to Dallas with your idiot brother and choke there.

There are several issues.

Diggs not having his best season and looking broken compared to his previous years is one.

Having mediocre offensive minds riding Josh Allen's coattails is another.

The inability to field more than 7 of your original 11 starters on defense in a playoff game is another.

The inability to make the plays that are right there for the making is yet another.

Last 10 Bills games

Receiving yards:
Khalil Shakir (462)
Stefon Diggs (422)

Targets:
Shakir (37)
Diggs (80)
https://x.com/Ihartitz/status/1749463441344024777?s=20

Two things are true:
1. Diggs is going nowhere this offseason due to the cap ramifications of moving him
2. Unless some information emerges that he was playing with ten broken fingers, we cannot go into 2024 treating him like a #1 receiver. He's now in the high end possession receiver phase of his career. Gotta go get a #1.

Diggs doesn't want to be here anymore, it was obvious in the offseason, it was obvious as the season went on with his brother hitting up the Twitter. Maybe some of you are coming around to realizing this.

He's way too talented to just have fallen off a cliff in the second half of the season.

Problem is, he's still going nowhere for one more season because of his contract situation.

"Allen threw as many incomplete passes to Diggs on Sunday as he had thrown to Shakir in the last eight weeks combined."

Diggs has been invisible in the playoffs for the Bills. ESPECIALLY in the four playoff losses. Here are Diggs playoff stats with he Bills....

Diggs is the 5th highest paid WR in the NFL with an AVG/Y contact worth $24M.

He's old, washed up, and doesn't care anymore...

Most likely just counting his days until he joins his brother...

Have no other choice then keep him 1 more year, but I'd rather eat the dead cap, and roll with Kincaid, Shakir, and 2 or 3 rookies.

Buffalogic
01-22-2024, 04:26 PM
He has nobody to blame but himself after yesterday. Bailed by Kincaid on that early fumble. Missed what would have been a momentum swinging mega punch with 8 minutes to go in the game. Maybe he will grow up after a humiliating performance like that.

Fact of the matter is we are not better without him especially when it costs more to get rid of him.

The emergence of Kincaid, Shakir, Cook and Johnson have this offense on the cusp of something great. They need to save that money by keeping Diggs and try to get Tee Higgins or Mike Evans. Let Gabe walk.

Mace

I'm bailing on Diggs, they need receivers that catch balls, not blocking wr's or decoys.

I was a Diggs fan. There was a game this year where he blamed lack of production on being double covered, and an opposing DB posted in reply "we didn't double him."

If we have a QB that can throw, we need receivers that will catch.

Right now Diggs just holds Josh back if he's going to the next level.

Dependence on just one guy is a death wish.

Depends on his production and attitude. He didn't all of the sudden become washed up after week 8. Was it Brady's scheme? Was he hurt? Was it his attitude? We're kind of stuck with him next season so they need to find a way to make it work. If we get a repeat on the 2nd part of this season we'll have to eat the 22 million dead cap in 2025.

It was Reid who said that, and Diggs had the perfect answer for him if caught that ball because Reid was defending him on that drop.

Not sure what was up, he still has juice, but his future is more inside than out. He and Josh couldn’t find that connection.

Yeah they can, would be like 9m in 24, but you save 19m, and carry 22m in dead money next season, and you still have to pay for his replacement. Don’t think it makes sense, guys like Von and Diggs save you money after 24 season. You’re probably stuck with them for one more year.

There's no excuse for that drop.

At least Sherfield has a built in excuse that he shouldn't even be on a roster.

Diggs unconscionable drop is even more infuriating when Marquez Valdes-Scantling makes this catch....for 30 yards for the first play of the second half in the drive that gave the Chiefs to lead 20-17.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/DUaRhw_c5f4?si=u25J6d6cKob1n2Sx" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen=""></iframe>

And this one....which was a 32 yard completion to the Bills 16 yard line that was KEY for the Chiefs winning TD (3 plays later) to go ahead for good 27-24.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/giJ8ga54r-M?si=D1sk-FYOqcmHFhue" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen=""></iframe>

Those were the only two catches Valdes-Scantling made for the game on four targets for 62 yards. Diggs had DOUBLE the targets (8) and made only one more catch (3) and got close to ONE THIRD of the yards (21)....while getting paid MORE THAN DOUBLE ($24M AVG/Y vs $10M AVG/Y).

The inexplicable lack of downfield passing game is what the difference was in this game.

Chiefs had EIGHT plays of more than 20 yards while the Bills had NONE. ZERO!!!

Kyle Brandt on GMFB and Alania Getzenberg of ESPN (https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39360643/tyler-bass-laments-missed-fg-buffalo-bills-loss) observed that the last time the Bills had ZERO plays over 20 yards (with Josh playing QB) was his rookie year.....

The Bills didn't run an offensive play longer than 18 yards, marking only the second time in Allen's 103 career starts (including playoffs) that Buffalo had zero plays of 20-plus yards in a game (Week 5, 2018). Allen averaged 0.7 air yards on 26 completions with 24 coming within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage. Since 2006, only two quarterbacks have completed 20-plus passes in a game and averaged fewer air yards on their completions.

It's reasonable to believe that the best way forward for the Bills is to find a team desperate enough to trade for Diggs to off load his oversized contract which, as evidenced by his disappearing in playoff games...he does NOT deserve. According to Overthecap (https://overthecap.com/player/stefon-diggs/3994), "post-June 1" trade or cut would save the the Bills $19M in cap space with a reasonable $8.8M dead cap hit.

Better to try and get something for him in a trade. <style>@font-face {font-family:"Cambria Math"; panose-1:2 4 5 3 5 4 6 3 2 4; mso-font-charset:0; mso-generic-font-family:roman; mso-font-pitch:variable; mso-font-signature:-536870145 1107305727 0 0 415 0;}@font-face {font-family:Calibri; panose-1:2 15 5 2 2 2 4 3 2 4; mso-font-charset:0; mso-generic-font-family:swiss; mso-font-pitch:variable; mso-font-signature:-536859905 -1073732485 9 0 511 0;}@font-face {font-family:Verdana; panose-1:2 11 6 4 3 5 4 4 2 4; mso-font-charset:0; mso-generic-font-family:swiss; mso-font-pitch:variable; mso-font-signature:-1593833729 1073750107 16 0 415 0;}p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-unhide:no; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; margin:0in; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.5pt; font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif; mso-fareast-font-family:Calibri; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; color:#222222;}.MsoChpDefault {mso-style-type:export-only; mso-default-props:yes; font-size:10.5pt; mso-ansi-font-size:10.5pt; mso-bidi-font-size:10.5pt; font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif; mso-ascii-font-family:Verdana; mso-fareast-font-family:Calibri; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-font-family:Verdana; color:#222222; mso-font-kerning:0pt; mso-ligatures:none;}div.WordSection1 {page:WordSection1;</style>

Diggs unconscionable drop is even more infuriating when Marquez Valdes-Scantling makes this catch....for 30 yards for the first play of the second half in the drive that gave the Chiefs to lead 20-17.

And this one....which was a 32 yard completion to the Bills 16 yard line that was KEY for the Chiefs winning TD (3 plays later) to go ahead for good 27-24.

And yet we were right there at the end with a great shot at points while controlling the clock. We choked.

And yet we were right there at the end with a great shot at points while controlling the clock. We choked.

The point is that Diggs has "choked" in most of the playoff games....and in particular each of the playoff loses since he's been here.
