    Horrible Coach / QB stat

I read no coach and QB combination have ever won a Super Bowl if they’ve been together over 5 years without winning one. Every coach / QB wins a SB within 5 years of being together. McDermott and Josh just finished their 6th year.

    We need help.

5 years together and still don't know how to handle the final 2:00.

    It's not encouraging...

Too many defensive injuries and a terrible year from Davis somebody Josh depended on and needed to have a great year.

What’s Kansas City’s excuse. They had just as many injuries and a sh**y receiving core until the other night when it mattered.

I've seen this before and it's one of the dumbest things ever spread on the internet. Look up what a representative statistical sample is and this totally fails.

There isn't a sample involved they are talking about an entire population.

One starter out I thought the NT.

What they left out were the guys that failed consistently.

Across the board we were beat up ..... Rapp, Benford and Bernard were too much to overcome.

              Our defensive strategy was terrible.

The end of game time management is something Josh doesn't entirely grasp. He shouldn't be throwing into the end zone with 2 mins left. The play was Diggs across the middle, run the clock down, then score a TD or FG for a tie and OT. Giving the ball back with 2 mins left just shows how poor their thinking is.

Sorry....that is the coaching doing that not Josh Allen which is exactly why the coaching staff needs to be sent packing ... and if it is a Rogue Josh Allen he will be forced to learn the lesson or he will also be responsible for the Jettison of the next group of coaches.

How does Josh get a pass for not managing the clock there? Brady or many other QBs wouldn't have thrown it. The credit for not doing it doesn't all go to Belichick. It's a collective mindset that has no awareness of the magnitude of that moment.

The entire population contains many more situations where a QB & coach are together fewer than 5 years. As a result looking at situations where a QB & coach are together for 5 years or more and haven't won a Super Bowl is such a small part of the entire equation that the "stat" is totally meaningless. Now if there were hundreds of coaches/QBs staying together for more than 5 years, there might be meaningful data, but the turnover in starting QBs & head coaches makes the "data" too limited to apply statistics to. Also, remember, each season, the odds of winning the Super Bowl, before taking the team's talent into consideration, is 1 in 32. Even adding each year to increase your chances (which I don't believe is a valid methodology, since each year you have a 31/32 chance of failure) you get 5/32 which is a 15% of any team winning the Super Bowl in 5 years. Anything that is at least 85% statistically valid is a pretty good bet. So, I can confidently say for all 32 teams, the odds of winning the Super Bowl over a 5 year period are pretty low. Really the true odds are 5/160 or the same 1/32 chance a team has every year. That's a 3% chance, much lower than the 15% some people would use by adding each year & keeping the denominator at 32.
Now let's look at how many teams today have a 5 year QB/Coach tandem: NOTE the if the Baltimore Ravens win the Super Bowl, that "Horrible Coach/QB Stat" blows up in your face.

                        Ravens
                        Bills
                        Chiefs

That's 3 teams. The remaining 29 teams do not have a 5 year QB/Coach combo. Of the 3 the Chiefs have won 2 Super Bowls, the Bills haven't won a Super Bowl and the Ravens, who if they win this year blow the stat to smithereens.

When only 3 of 32 teams (9.4%) even fit a sample to begin with, that sample is NOT REPRESENTATIVE enough to draw any conclusion.

Because the coaches haven't been able to educate them on the magnitude of that moment obviously. It's not a matter of Allen getting a pass it is a matter of Coach McDermoot accepting his ongoing responsibility here and not pointing the finger everywhere else while he continues to say he's responsible.

Allen's brain and attitude has been mismanaged since day one and it's not going to stop while McDermott is here we only have the assumption uber Allen will show up and make a play in spite of the lousy coaching he's got holding him back.

                            I've posted this several times.

Super Bowl winning coaches at least get their team to one in the first five years. Same with drafted QB's, with Peyton Manning being the exception.

But at some point, Allen needs to be held accountable for not learning an elementary lesson as clock management. This in no way excuses McD's role in not managing the clock at the end of the game. They're both guilty.
