He already interviewed with Daboll for the same position, and Miami has requested permission also.

People are saying that he has that aura, even at 39 year old age, that he's going to be a HC some day.

When he was coaching safeties, the Bills had one of the best safety tendons. This year he moved down to coach linebackers, look how Bernard, Dodson improved.

Having Poyer and Hyde helps being a successful Safety coach. Bernard is just good and Dodson was forced to get better or go.

so often coaches get credit for player talent. Like a QB coach that has Peyton Manning on the roster.

Could be smart to make him the DC in title only to keep him on staff.

If that’s strictly a move to block him getting a promotion with a “fake” title, I’d rather we not do people dirty like that.

Maybe Washington going to Chicago opens up a promotion for Babich

Maybe he can teach Duke Riley how to tackle.

You would be against giving a guy a promotion, raise, and elevating his coaching resume? Alrighty then…

The issue is that if McDermott is relinguishing play call duty to the DC. Does not sound like it.

You said we should make him DC “in title only”. In other words he wouldn’t really be the DC. He’d be a puppet with a title for McD. This is strictly to block his exit to a “real” DC position.

yeah. I’d be against that. If he’s offered a real DC position he shouldn’t be blocked from it using a fake DC title. That said, he has every right to decline it for the other job. He’s not the DC, and blocking his move that includes A promotion is not something the Bills should want to be known for.

This is such a hypocritical post. You should think before you say stuff

McDermott isn’t giving up play-calling and you incorrectly assume the intent. It’s not to block him at all it’s to offer him a better position to stay. He should absolutely interview elsewhere and if he wants a real DC position then he should leave, but the title only job is all we have to offer.

The fake and incorrect morality play is cute though. Points for creativity.
