Bettors pounce on Lions as 7-point underdogs - NBC Sports

The 49ers opened as 6.5-point favorites in today’s NFC Championship. That didn’t stop people from betting on the Lions.

Then the line moved to 7. Which invited more to take Detroit.

Then the spread then went to, at some sportsbooks, 7.5. Which has gotten even more to take Detroit.

As noted by David Purdum of ESPN.com, DraftKings Sportsbook said as of Sunday morning that twice as many point-spread bets have been placed on the Lions than on the 49ers.

The Ravens opened as 3.5-point favorites over the Chiefs. That number has since moved.

Via David Purdum of ESPN.com, Baltimore’s margin has moved as high as minus-4.5. Purdum also notes that some of the biggest wagers reported this week have been placed on the AFC’s No. 1 seed.

Purdum notes that Caesars Sportsbook received a $100,000 bet on Baltimore to win the Super Bowl at +195 odds, and BetMGM took a $175,000 money-line wager on the Ravens to beat the Chiefs, at -200 odds. That said, Purdum notes that the point-spread betting for the AC Championship has been “relatively balanced.”

Word on Sunday morning that Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey and Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco would play in the AFC Championship Game proved correct, but the Chiefs are going to be without a key defensive player.
Linebacker Willie Gay was listed as questionable to play due to the neck injury that knocked him out of last Sunday’s win over the Bills and the Chiefs made him inactive 90 minutes ahead of kickoff in Baltimore.

if money keeps going on the lions no matter how big the spread gets (as in the big money is going there) then I would watch out for a vegas fix job; calls will be made, and the 49ers won't cover... thats assuming number of bets == money. there could be some massive bets on the 49ers which is causing the spread to get bigger. if everything is on the up and up. which is rare in vegas. i'd be curious where the money is going. if its all going on the lions then the vegas fix is in.

Really giving the Lions a TD is pretty damn lame. I would take that in a heartbeat Goff is gonna be trying to win that game late in the 4th quarter.

Ravens look totally unprepared. We blew another chance to go the SB.

Ravens need to adjust to a pass first offense fast. KC was playing 8 and even 9 in the box. The Ravens won't be able to run.
