View Full Version : Would you take a guaranteed 6-11 season next year to guarantee a coaching reset?

Nothing guaranteed in 2025, of course, just a new HC/DC/OC to utilize JA and the young core.

Hell no!! :roflmao:

The only way they go 6-11 is if JA gets hurt, so no, I do not want that. Nobody should ever want a losing season. Ever.

Not a fan of this.

All I want is for McD to be pissed at himself for squandering yet another golden opportunity to bury some ghosts. Josh too.

I'm not seeing it

I see it like this.

HC coaches as a rule are hired to get fired.

With 32 teams currently there will be 31 losers a year.

It sorts itself out.

How many chances should a HC get before we try to hire a great coach, not just a good one?

A good coach who doesn't shoot us in the foot would be fine ...

Give a list of 3 great ones that are available!

McD and Allen are the longest HC/QB combo to not make the SB. So...

I'd be good if McD was gone two seasons ago, before Allen was unfixable, but oh well...

Could be gas. :fart:

But if we keep McD, how does he get his head out of his ass last 2min in critical situations and actually coach the players into strategic positions?

I'm gonna pass this to somebody else.

Never tee them up this high ever again. :roflmao:

We need it because McD peaked 3 years ago and gets consistently out coached by the better coaches, especially Reid. And if he can’t get past Reid, nothing else matters.

That being said, I still wouldn’t do a reset. It’s not easy to find good coaches. Despite McD’s flaws, we had a slew of bad coaches between Phillips and him that can’t hold McD’s jock.

Or to say it more simply: if we move on from McD, there’s a much greater chance that we’ll get a Williams/Jauron/Ryan drought-era coach as a replacement than someone actually better. But McD is what he is. He’s a reg season coach who can’t win the big ones.

Only, and only if, I had a signed pledge by all 32 teams that 2025 was the year the Bills won the show, and then they wouldn't have to win ever again. Just one ****ing Lombardi one ****ing time.

I would only trade for a guaranteed Lombardi the next season. Nothing less.

I want McDermott out as much as anyone else, but don't want the team going 6-11 to make it happen.

Even though it might take a losing season for it to happen because apparently ownership is happy with a ceiling of divisional playoff round loss.

Ownership has been through a lot too. It's hard to tell what the situation is with ownership right now so I don't think it is fair to assert they are complacent.

Or, maybe they are realistic.
