saw a report on facebook (built in buffalo) that the bills will hire Ronald Curry to the offensive staff. unsure what capacity. he was previously qb coach and passing game coordinator in new orleans.

if i can find a link, i'll send it. obviously move to spam if this turns out to be bull****.

Curry was a respected coach in New Orleans -- he had spent years working with the wide receivers and quarterbacks before being promoted to passing game coordinator, but there wasn't a role for him on incoming offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak's staff. The Saints are shedding more and more pieces from the Sean Payton era.

With that said, it's a little surprising that Curry didn't land with two head coaches he's worked for in the past: Sean Payton on the Denver Broncos and Jim Harbaugh with the Los Angeles Chargers. But there's obvious familiarity between him and Brady, and Buffalo is a good fit with a playoff-ready roster and a talented young quarterback in Josh Allen. Good luck RC.

Interesting

Some of you might remember him, he was a decent WR for the Raiders for a few years

His coaching resume is pretty small, but he's coached under Sean Payton, if that matters to anyone.

Oakland Raiders

Curry was selected by the Oakland Raiders (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oakland_Raiders) in the seventh round of the 2002 NFL Draft (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2002_NFL_Draft) with the 235th overall pick as a quarterback (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quarterback).

Curry made his professional regular season debut on November 3, 2002 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2002_Oakland_Raiders_season), in a 23–20 loss to cross-town rival San Francisco 49ers (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Francisco_49ers). In that game, Curry lost one fumble. During the preseason, Curry played in three games and lost three fumbles. He played all 16 games of the 2003 season (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_Oakland_Raiders_season), including two starts, and made five receptions for 31 yards.

In 2004, as the number 3 receiver behind Jerry Porter (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerry_Porter_(football_player)), he hauled in 50 receptions for 679 yards before injuring his Achilles tendon (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Achilles_tendon). Before his injury Curry's highlights included 10 receptions in a game against the Colts, a Raiders' season high. He recorded his first 100-yard receiving game with 110 yards on six catches in Week 11 at Denver, then followed that up with a nine-catch, 141-yard performance the next week against Kansas City. He also won the Levitra NFL Play of the Week for his leaping, twisting, one-handed grab in the back of the end zone at Denver in a snowstorm.

Ronald Curry set to join Bills as quarterbacks coach (https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/ronald-curry-set-to-join-bills-as-quarterbacks-coach)

Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports reports that Curry will be the quarterbacks coach under head coach Sean McDermott and offensive coordinator Joe Brady. Curry and Brady worked together with the Saints in 2017 and 2018.According to multiple reports, the Saints offered Curry the chance to remain on their staff as the wide receivers coach before he elected to move on.
Curry held that job from 2018-2020 and has been the quarterbacks coach in New Orleans for the last three years. He interviewed for the offensive coordinator position with the team last month, but the Saints opted to go with Klint Kubiak for that job.

its easier to make a name for yourself when you have a qb like Allen .Ask Dorsey.

Still rather have Davis Webb, but if he can help get us over the hump I'll be a fan.

Like like Josh may see some real change in offense this coming season - more Sean Peyton concepts added into Erhardt-Perkins based system that Daboll installed.

Peyton's root is Walsh' WCO but he is known to adapt to players' strength. With the emergence of Cook, Kincaid, and Shakir, I can imagine Josh's completion percentage will go up as there will be a lot of high percentage throws to more open guys under neath. But we do need a vertical threat to take the top of from time to time.

He has done some good work. Brady knows him well. No issues with this hire.

I would have preferred Jordan Palmer but hey, he has his gig, Webb has his, and maybe Brady has a handle on the whole thing.

At least they didn't hire me, when I applied, I felt that was my weakest resume. I'm ferocious on offense but that leads into the discussion of the problematic felonies. I should have gotten a defensive job though, for how I've managed multiple identities and avoiding the laws under challenging circumstance while maintaining an aggressive approach to positive synergies via proactive byplay with aversion to the nebulous periphery.

We'll have plenty to talk about next year again....I mean not my felonies and multiple identities, or any possible new ones, but more like what happens with the people they did hire.

Palmer makes way more money than a QB coach, and is stress free.

He has camps around the country. The cheapest is $2500.00 a head for a two day camp without limiting number of participants. If you want 1-on-1, actually 1-on-2, it is $5000 for 5 hours. Do the math.

Still would rather have Peyton Manning. Doubt this guy can get Allen any more focused and dialed in than he is, or isn't, right now. But I'll keep an open mind for now.

I suggested Peyton Manning months ago but nobody listened ..... well except for two or three ..... that thought why would he give up his current gig ..... you make it an offer he cannot refuse $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Me too. Since about week 10, or so. Allen needs a calm, organized, smart, hard-working mentor. He needs to be taught by someone who has worked like Manning.

now they gotta fix whatever the **** is going on at special teams and wide receiver. what disturbs me is that those were our weakest links last year and it appears we are staying pat.
