I’m just looking forward to the hopeful meltdown of football fans over the Usher halftime show and Swiftie celebration of a Chiefs Super Bowl.

Very little is more enjoyable than watching grown adults display the level of immaturity required to lose their **** over things they have no control over and are as dumb as a halftime show and a personal relationship.

I'm an old fart Classic Rock guy....I never even heard of Usher until it was announced he would be the halftime entertainment.

I'll watch with an open mind, I DO like all different kinds of music, and my daughters are always turning me on to new artists. Usher is not one of them.

Interestingly, The Athletic published a ranking (us sports fans eat up ranking just about anything :D:) of Super Bowl halftime shows (https://theathletic.com/5244684/2024/02/11/super-bowl-halftime-show-rankings-usher-prince-u2-rihanna/?source=freeweeklyemail&campaign=602288&userId=6537902)by baseball writer, Levi Weaver (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Levi_Weaver), who has a fairly accomplished career as a musician, singer and songwriter.

A ranking of musical shows is soooooooo subjective and this one is about as subjective as it gets. He's obviously not a classic rack guy and I thought he insults The Who, placing them #26 (out of 33) was a travesty of bad taste.

The last time I saw The Who live, Levi Weaver was still in diapers. (early 80’s). Almost thirty years later, The Who sounded as tight as ever. Spectacular sound. Perfect performance.

Reminded me of Queen’s amazing Live-Aid set that has gone down as one of the best live rock performances in history.

But, my ranking is not simply because of musical taste. The Rolling Stones are one of my favorite groups as well, but they sounded TERRIBLE! Like a bunch of old guys that have not rehearsed for years trying their best to relive the old days.

They failed miserably.

Paul McCartney (and The Beatles) are probably my all-time favorite. My reaction to Paul was meh.

The biggest sin was placing the boring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg…etc…at #2. The whole show was a big fat bore.

On the other hand, Prince has never been one of my favorites. I have no songs of his on any of my playlists, but his performance was captivating and for the ages.

THAT is the sure sign of an electric performers, when they can captive one that does not really love his songs already.

So, Mr. Weaver got #1 spot on.

What is great about the article is that there is a video link to each and every show.

I do not know why you are having a problem. It's pretty simple to use the "share" option on Youtube page of the video and click on "embed"...copy the link (not the one you posted above or the one in the pic below) and paste in your post.

It works every time I have done it.

This board is a bit antiquated like another one I'm on but the easiest way is to cut and paste the addy/url from the youtube video you want to show.

Then, when you hit post, reply to post etc. Here a small menu pops up above. Select the option 2nd from the right... or the 2nd to the right from the earth with a red X. Click on it and paste your addy from youtube. Click ok and then submit.

I just clicked your link.

Just beneath the video the Share option appears.

Click that next.

When i do that embed appears along with these others facebook .... email .... X ..... etc.

Click embed ............ copy that ..... i usually drag it to the side.

Then on the Billszone you can select at the top of the post window the insert video option.

Next drag your copied embed into that window and click ok.

So the pre-game from ESPN Mexico started here at the top of the hour — 5:00 PM ET or 7:00 PM here — and obviously it is in Spanish.

I watched last year’s SB here as well in Spanish.

Quite frankly, it is more exciting and passionate in Spanish.

In any event, my Spanish is not great and they are talking as fast as hummingbirds however every sentence had the words PATRICK MAHOMES.

Screw him!!!

I am rooting for a crushing 49’ers victory.

This game is proof of why you don’t get a defensive lineman in the first round. The best DL in the league can’t touch this guy.

you MUST concentrate your efforts on your offense scoring

With no time left on the clock. The Bills are the team that had the best chance to beat him in this playoffs. They choked it away and worse is their coach and QB insist they did the right thing. I don't see much chance of us ever getting past this team.

Pachenco fumbles a lot closer to a TD than Mcaffrey did.

100% Love Josh Allen. But Mahomes has something Allen doesn’t.

I honestly didn't think so, until this playoff season, and in fact, I thought KC would go down in flames having to win two on the road.

Then San Francisco throws everything but the kitchen sink at them, and still loses the Super Bowl.

Say it was Buffalo against the 49ers.

Does anyone think the Bills come back from 10-0?

Allen would have started pressing, and the Bills would have folded like a cheap suit.

Game would have most likely been over at the half.

As good as the Niners were last night, they still were no match for Mahomes and that defense.

And I can't begrudge the Hunt family, despite the fact that we gave them the Mahomes pick, when we needed a quarterback.

If it wasn't for them, there would be no Buffalo Bills.

The Bills have for the most part, been fun to watch over the last 5 or 6 years, but last nights game showed me just how far off they are.

Both offenses attack.

They play the down and distance game, and never get behind on the sticks.

Both defenses pressure the bejesus out of you, with basically their front four.

They blitz in obvious 3rd and longs.

And their kickers are amazingly accurate from over 50.

Buffalo has none of that.

And that's on the coaching.

And I think the thing that bugs me the most, is not that they've lost the last two years in the divisional round, it's that they've lost the last two years in the divisional round at home.

There was a time when we were unbeatable there.

Now it's just another lackluster performance, in a winner-take-all scenario.

I hope some day McDermott puts it all together, but I don't see it happening anytime soon.

bro, there is so much wrong in this post...

First of all the bills wouldn't have had anywhere near the problems scoring on the 49ers the chiefs had (conversely the 49ers probably score on use a lot too). Lets not forget the bills were the only team to score more then 2 tds against that chiefs defense, and had JA not been hit on that 2nd down pass we would have had 4...

I've watched JA perform at or higher then Mahomes in various games, and still lose thanks to our flaccid defense which folds under pressure time after time. Does anyone believe that had we scored a TD on that last drive against KC that mahomes doesn't drive the field to win on a TD anyway?

All i got from watching that game last night is how far away our defense is from being superbowl quality. I don't come away thinking we had the wrong guy under center, as i've seen JA perform far better then both those guys last night.

I wasn't really criticizing Allen per se, but if you wanna compare the two, look only at the Divisional playoff game.

Allen had the ball for almost 40 minutes, including what could have been a game sealing drive at the end.

He failed.

Mahomes had the ball for roughly 20 minutes and won it....on the road.

I don't think Mahomes a better athlete, or a better passer.

He simply is cooler under pressure.

Even when he hasn't played his best game.

Agreed. We played ball possession because we knew our defense sucked. We were good in the first half, staying to script. The difference is, KC adjusted in the second half and shut down the run.
This is where we needed Josh to step up and stop playing runningback and turn into a passer. Probably a combination of all of the above (lack of scheme/adjustments, execution by WRs and execution by Allen himself), but it all failed.

May sound cheesy but I said it last night before it happened this last series separates the men from the boys. Just like the last Bills series did. KC had the balls to go for the TD AND keep it in Mahomes hands. Every other team in the league minus maybe the Lions kick the field goal. KC is that good in execution, that well coached, and unfortunately Mahomes absolutely has something I haven’t seen since Brady.

It might sound strange, considering its Reid and Mahomes, but THIS year, they played more like an early 2000s Patriots team than they did a Reid/Mahomes team of the past.

Their defense kept them in games and won most of them. They were the ones that were slowing down or stopping some of the higher scoring offenses in the league.

The offense was opportunistic, especially towards the end..but they were no where near the high flying, score-a-minute offenses of Chiefs teams in the recent past.

For the first time, the Super Bowl had no kickoff returns (https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/for-the-first-time-the-super-bowl-had-no-kickoff-returns)

Super Bowl LVIII was emblematic of a 2023 NFL season in which kickoff returns were largely phased out of the game.

Not a single kickoff was returned between the Chiefs and the 49ers, making it the first Super Bowl without any kickoff returns.

It’s not that there weren’t opportunities: There were a total of 13 kickoffs in the game. But all 13 of the went for touchbacks.

NFL rules have increasingly incentivized touchbacks, as the league has changed rules to minimize the number of full-speed collisions players have on kickoff returns. A Super Bowl with 13 kickoffs and zero kickoff returns is the natural consequence of NFL rule changes in recent years.

Why easier?

They have 4 downs if need be ...... much much easier to attack knowing you have 4 plays if need be rather than 3 and punting if appropriate ..... just much easier to call the plays in that type of situation.

They changed the rules for OT this year.

The 49ers this morning are admitting they did not know the new rules ..... they had to defer.

Under the rules format for the 1st 57 games you might prefer the ball ..... because back then if you score the TD the game is over.

Like what happened to us recently ..... 13 second game.

As usual, KC enjoys the **** ups of the other team (while their **** ups are not nearly as bad, or like the terrible INT Mahomes threw, the other team fails to take advantage)...this game hinged on a lucky break with a punted ball hitting an unsuspecting San Fran player.

Then their kicker mises a ****ING EXTRA POINT!!!!!

But, when the rubber hits the road, Purdy HAD HIS CHANCE for greatness in OT. The result....he went 6/4 in OT (the seventh INCOMPLETION was saved by a defensive holding call). Got to the KC NINE YARD LINE, but could not get it in.

Mahomes in OT.....EIGHT FOR EIGHT for 42 yards....two runs for 21 yards including the 4th down run that saved the game.

That's SIXTY THREE of the 75 yards in the wining TD drive.

Over/Under was 47.5 if you bet over you lost.

Under/Over usually is halted after regulation so it really wasn't close.

But it's still under including the overtime points.

Super Bowl overtime delivers big swing for betting public
(https://www.espn.com/espn/betting/story/_/id/39510170/super-bowl-delivers-big-swing-betting-public)

As kickoff approached Sunday, sportsbooks were almost unanimously rooting for the favored San Francisco 49ers (https://www.espn.com/nfl/team/_/name/sf/san-francisco-49ers) to win in a low-scoring Super Bowl.

Late in the fourth quarter, everything was going the books' way. Then, the game went into overtime.

The underdog Kansas City Chiefs (https://www.espn.com/nfl/team/_/name/kc/kansas-city-chiefs) rallied from behind in overtime to pull out a 25-22 win (https://www.espn.com/nfl/game/_/gameId/401547378/49ers-chiefs) behind another Super Bowl MVP performance from quarterback Patrick Mahomes (https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/3139477/patrick-mahomes), resulting in a big swing in favor of the betting public.

The Chiefs covered the spread as 2-point underdogs, and the game went over the consensus closing total of 46.5. Both were good results for the betting public, as was overtime.

That under /over that you post is incorrect on every Vegas site for almost 2 weeks it was 47 and went up to 47.5 right in the last couple days.

The Chiefs had over 70% of the betting pool so the cover was just a bonus.

Under/Over in Vegas ends after regulation.

Over/Under is the final score. Since when does OT not count?

Back in the day ...... I have retired so the number thing has probably changed. (1980's)

However the O/U was never 46.5 .... I watched it all week.

There's a thread on it.

If you bet over in Vegas you lost.

I don't know if it really mattered in the end or not but it sure put a lot of pressure on Purdy. He had, had to score on the first possession. That's a big ask for the kid.

Dunno.....Purdy would have had a lot more pressure if KC scored, and you know they would have. Shanahan's explanation made sense to me, they meant to score and be able to respond if KC matched it. Had KC scored 7, the pressure on Purdy to respond with 7 would have been brutal.

No gripes with Purdy. This was his first sip of the big game. and he's come a long way.

Chiefs have done this before and have a mindset you only get when you've been to the top of the mountain multiple times and mean to get there again. People snark at Mahomes, but Mahomes is clutch and focused when it comes down to the moment.

New Bills Mafia excuse for losing: Patrick Mahomes is too good.

All you clowns do realize we traded Mahomes away the year prior to drafting Allen right?

All I'm saying is 44 years ago when I participated it was not.

Same held true in Basketball and Baseball wagers.

No OT or Extra innings because you don't know how long a Baseball game can go and a Basketball game also always had the potential to go into additional OT's.

Pro Basketball O/U is set to 48 minutes.

MLBaseball O/U is set to 9 innings.

He realized it last season and signed Bass through 2027 ...
His salary is nothing more than a rounding error compared to the totality of the cap. They need to upgrade the position.

It's not even that, it's that their program and coaching has been better. They have a better "process" and keep proving it.

When and as what? OC or HC?

We got both Mcd and Brady for at least one more season.

Special assistant to the office of the President of operations.

He could help oversee the draft and get us what we need to win it all.

The decision by Shanahan to take the ball in OT after winning the coin toss was STUPID BEYOND MEASURE!!!!

Not necessarily because it put pressure on the young QB, it simply helped KC in a HUGE way.

First of all, you risk having a three and out and handing the ball over to KC with only a FG to win it. MUCH better to put pressure on KC to avoid that.

Second, for his explanation that he was playing for the "third possession" only makes sense if you can GUARANTEE to score a TD. If you don't....we all saw what happened, and I suspect that everyone (not a 49ers fan) KNEW as soon as they settled for a FG, and handed the ball to Mahomes, their fate was sealed. (In retrospect, they would have been better off going for the first down, and giving the ball to KC inside their own 9 if they did not make it)

Third, if they defer, it allows their defense (which did a credible job in slowing down Mahomes most of the game) to either a FG or to punt....then meaning a FG wins it.

Fourth, San Fran handed KC an extra down, as in they had no tough decision whether go for it or not o 4th down when outside FG range (remember, the 4th down they did go for was at their own 34).

Fifth, they TOOK AWAY a down from their offense. For example, when SanFran was driving, and it went to 3rd and 4 at the KC ****ing NINE YARDS LINE....if they deferred and KC scored a TD, there would be no question...go for the 1st down or TD.

Basically, they tied their own hands because they did not know what it would take to win the game.

They handed KC a security blanket in that they knew EXACTLY what it would take to win....with a FG in their back pocket to tie and extend IF THEY HAD TO!!!

Shanahan screwed the pooch on that one. Chris Jones was spot on saying that decision was "crazy" (https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/chris-jones-on-49ers-decision-to-take-ball-in-overtime-theyre-crazy).
