yup in the Edwards thread.
should save us a few $$$$$$ he'll be our new punter JMO.
Now let's get a placekicker.
Put this one in the "we have Josh Allen and don't really need punting" camp.
Except you got screwed on ****ty punting last season.
So you reverted to Haack after you needed to go in another direction?
If you can't tell these guys are full of **** .....

It better be for vet minimum

This guy was markedly worse than Martin. Gotta think the job will ultimately go to an UDFA.

Our punter Martin is $$$$ and not much of an athlete either JMO.
One time he was asked to chase down a runner he pulls a hammy .... we can do better.

Was it a coincidence that Bass started his struggles when Haack left?
Makes me wonder if that was the major consideration.

I had the same thought.

If they brought back a punter everyone could see we needed a new punter so Bass can kick again that isn't going to end well either.

Could be.
But the Punt God Fan Club weren't concerned that he'd never done it before and were willing to take the risk.

Haack was TBass' holder for the year TBass was good. Maybe this is a lateral punter move, upgrade at holder?

The odd part about this, is that they haven't cut Martin yet.
Is Haack just there to punt in pre season?? I mean, when's the last time a team had a competition at punter, with one already signed?

Have to cut Martin before 03/18 or his 2024 salary fully guarantees. 800k dead cap if he's cut

1.25 saved when Martin is cut. Haack shouldn't be getting anything more than that. No one else wanted him.

He shouldn't be even getting that, besides us his career is toast.
Saving 1.25 to downgrade a position is as ridiculous as downgrading it in the hopes he can tackle better on returns or save your kicker with the yips. If they want a camp leg that's udfa.
Matt Haack....really ? Come on.

The only way it makes sense is if the speculation that his holding was part of Bass' kicking issues is true.

I don't even see it that way. If the holding is an issue your st coach works on the holding issue with the better punter.
Gilliam makes more money than Martin and had 3 st tackles last year....while not holding, punting, catching or running. Save 1.9 by cutting him, and if you can't find a cheaper kickoff coverage guy coming out of college udfa with some utility, your scouts are inadequate.
