Panthers Kicker Has Surgery For Hernia

Carolina Panthers kicker John Kasay had hernia surgery Friday and will be out 6-to-8 weeks.

Team spokesman Charlie Dayton said the Panthers will determine Saturday if they will place Kasay on injured reserve, which would mean he'd be out for the season.

Carolina Panthers kicker John Kasay was placed on injured reserve following surgery to repair a hernia Saturday, and was replaced by Jon Hilbert.
