Joe Namath was speaking at an arthritis seminar in South Florida last spring when a football fan in the audience rose with a question that always stumps the Miami Dolphins.

"What do the Dolphins have to do to beat the Jets?" the man asked.

Namath flashed his best Broadway grin.

"If I knew," he said, "I wouldn't tell you."

Wannstedt invites Riley to pump up Dolphins for Jets, jinx

For anyone who doesn't think the Dolphins aren't taking their matchup vs. the Jets a little more seriously, Friday's guest speaker at Dolphins practice might put that notion to rest.

Coach Dave Wannstedt brought in Miami Heat coach Pat Riley to talk to the Dolphins players for about 30 minutes, an address which included a video presentation played under Bruce Springsteen's The Rising, a song he wrote after the 9/11 tragedy.

The Dolphins have lost eight consecutive games to the Jets, with some of the losses coming under odd circumstances.
