If Drew Bledsoe and Alex Van Pelt were hurt during a game, running back Sammy Morris would be the Bills' emergency quarterback.
The Bills and Morris hope he isn't needed, but it speaks to his versatility. He was an all-state quarterback in San Antonio, Texas, rushing and passing for more than 2,700 yards and 29 touchdowns as a senior in high school.
"I don't know if they want me under center, but whatever they throw at me I'll take," Morris said. "Maybe I'll bring back my old (high school option) package for them."
Apologies if this was posted b4 or well-known....I just found out while reading the article...
