GW's comments on the fake punt

"In that situation we didn't take it well at that part of the ball game. We're hoping to have a situation where we could sneak it but we didn't get the ball snuck and we've got to do better about that. When you look at that right there, I'll make sure next time I don't do that."

He's back-peddling like crazy. At least he admitted that it was a mistake........at least I think he did . GW "...I'll make sure next time I don't do that."

GW, "Do or do not, there is no try."

          we didn't take what?

No one can convince me that it wasn't a stupid call. I am actually glad it didn't work because maybe now this coaching staff will finally realize what constitutes a bonehead call.

4th and 2 at the oppositions 32 and you punt?
4th and 2 on your side of the field, up by 14 and you run a fake?

          Wow.

          Byrd.

Reminds me of that AFFLAC, Yogi Berra commercial.

It's not like he drew this up during the game. This was the set play for a fake field punt. Morris waited too long to snap the ball, once he is under center, he was suppose to snap it. Once he waited he took the surprze away and Jax defended it!

OK so maybe it was a great call, BUT look at it this way, this paly didn't hurt us, we won the game and now other teams will have to be on the look out for a fake. Maybe it helps our punt coverage!

The game, overall, was called beautifully. We won 38-17 but I guarantee that there'll be people harping on this 1 offensive call and calling for GW's head. Forget the other 50 some plays that were good calls. It's irritating sometimes.

It's irritating all the time!!! When I read comments like "how long til Greg is fired", "how many games do you give him" and so on. If this happens it only means one thing, the Bills had another losing season!

                    DO WE WANT THIS? :madshake:

I don't think GW has much to do with the game-calling.

It sound more like something Gilbride would try.

I don't think peole will be callling for GW's head after a win, we're Bills fans not Doll felons, or patsies.

I don't think we will call for his head when, and IF we lose a game this season. Unless boneheaded calls like that cost us teh game.

At that point in the game it was 14-0. It was stupid. It let the Jags off the mat. And you exposed your fake you could have used later in the season when it would be a good call.

THAT fake would NEVER have been a good call.
