Drew played another good game but without a defense to stop the run we are looking at 8-8. Clinton Portis ran all over us today. Another tough day for Travis and without a threat of the running game Drew will continue to get pounded. Sorry, just had to rant because I really dislike Denver !!

It HAS to be frustrating for our offense to work so hard and our defense give it all away.

There at the end, what was required of our D? Just keep the Bronx from marching ALL the way down the field and scoring a TD. That's when I really expected to hear our coaches and players dig deep and do what HAD to be done -- but instead, I heard Denver running the same plays over and over, and our guys escorting them down the field. Why?

We cant run and we cant stop the run. Portis (who ?) had over 100 yards against us .. Like you said, the offense must just sit and shake thier heads. Its a shame too. But hey, is Drew the man or what ? That guy is so awesome !!

He is the man indeed -- but I wonder how much longer he can keep it up under these circumstances. The D has GOT to come through and pull their share of the load! DB & Co cannot claw and scratch and overachieve every game, just to watch the D leisurely give it all away.

Drew wasn't exactly himself today - there were some passes that he threw that should have been easy completions that he bounced off the turf.

That kinda had me a little irate, but don't get me wrong - I'm glad as hell that we've got him.

If you saw the Pats game, we can run on them. I think we have played some tough run defenses (excluding Minn.) but in a few weeks, I think Travis'll be back on track. I don't expect him to get 100 every game but hopefully after the Bears next week, he'll get it back on track. Unfotunately, the Bears D might be a little too much for us to run next week.

Eugh! I'd like to know why Watson was covering Rod Smith all game long!! Silly idea if you ask me. Shouldn't our BEST CB be covering their best WR???

Actually, they switched Winfield over to Smith and he gave up the penalty and then the big TD at the end of the game. Watson actually had decent coverage on Smith on that last drive. It was Griese's accuracy and Smith's size that led to all of those completions at the end.

Our defense is really killing us right now. They can't allow the opposing offense to hold the ball for as long as Denver did yesterday because it gives Drew and the O very little margin for error.

There is no defense.
