the numbers don't lie... kelly was the better player... beyond the stats... as stats are overrated kelly was superior leader and a tougher qb... both are great qb's... i just rate jimmy higher

Jim Kelly-

Call me back in 5 years- I might have to rank them in a tie

If Bledsoe continues to lead this team the way he has the first 2 games all the way to a superbowl win, Jim Kelly will be a forgotten soul, mark my words.

wouldn't he set a record for most 4,000 yd seasons if he does it again?

Jim Kelly

But, like Dozer said, maybe in 5 years, w/ a SB victory under Bledsoe's belt, i'll rethink my opinion.

Kelly! It has nothing to do with their statistics, leadership or on field presence. I just cannot abide with Drew's post game self demeaning remarks. It isn't one of the things I expect to see from a quarterback.

I would have to see Drew perform here over several years in order to make a reasonable comparison of him to Kelly. That said, Drew is a great QB in his own right.

As far as pure talent goes.... DB is better
As far as leadership, finding a way to win, and all of the intangebles.... Kelly is better

Until Drew can show that he can mantain his high level of talent into the cold months I will take Jimbo any day.

Right now, Jimbo. Drew's only played 1 season and 2 games with us. I will say that Drew's leadership has catapulted since his days in NE and even since last season. I think both guys are tough S.O.B.'s but Kelly's tenure can't just be forgotten because of 1 or 2 Drew seasons. Jimbo was the toughest QB I've ever seen and yes, he was the best on the field leader I've ever seen. If Drew's here another few years and wins a Superbowl then I'll re-evaluate. Even then, we'll all be able to say that we got to watch two great QB's in Buffalo.

No brainer-JK. He made quicker reads and got the ball away. He was also a lot more settled in the pocket. Drew has a fast release but he still needs to make better/faster reads.

Drew will go down as one of the best ARMS in football history (something i doubt many would call Jim, as he was quite good but not top notch).

In my mind Drew's comperable to Dan Marino... He gets us to a few superbowls, maybe win one and he will go down as one of the greatest QBs in nfl history, and be righfully mentioned in the same breath with Jimbo.

Jim Kelly #1 always.

If DB wins a bowl, it would have to be him.

If he plays out the rest of his career here, no doubt it will be him.

Kelly, no doubt.

That seems the best comparison I can think of. I think it would be kind of hard to compare anyone to Jim Kelly in today's NFL just because QBs don't call their own plays anymore. If Drew were given that responsibility, he'd have to be able to mix in the pass and run pretty equally, as Kelly did. Hasn't Drew actually had a history of audibling out of run plays a lot...and not into them? :feedback:
