Record-breaking Lewis still running his mouth, as well

A day after backing up a brash prediction with a historic performance, the Ravens' Jamal Lewis began talking about another run at NFL lore yesterday.

When asked how long his single-game rushing record would stand, the running back cracked a smile and said, "Until I break it again."

Lewis galloped for a record 295 yards in pulling the Ravens to a 33-13 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. The milestone came three days after a trash-talking session with Browns linebacker Andra Davis, in which Lewis pledged "a career day."

The pro football record was Ron Stewart of the ottawa roughriders.287 yrds on 15 carries in 1960 in a 51-20 romp over montreal.Ronnie had also scored 4 touch downs that day. That record held for awhile.lol
Political correctness ( or cancel culture as it is called today) is a doctrine fostered by a delusional ,illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by MSM which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

How long do you think it will take him to beat Emmit Smith's all time rushing record? I know Emmit is still playing, but he's going to retire some time... Think Lewis has a shot?

I wonder if that thought has crossed Emmit's mind.

Ravens can't rely on Lewis alone: Boller needs to do more

The Ravens still want Lewis to get up to 30 carries a game, but they know the opposition will be waiting for him - at least until Boller gives them something else to think about.

"We have to do more than just run the football," Lewis said Wednesday. "More than anything, I'm rooting for the offence to develop. I'd like for us to get to 50-50."

Yup, you raise a good point. A lot could happen to Lewis. He could be a one hit wonder, or do extremely well or have a career ending injury.

But hey, it's fun to speculate even this early in the season

The Ravens were chased out of Baltimore two days early by Hurricane Isabel, and Jamal Lewis talked some smack about his matchup with LaDainian Tomlinson.
It was an eventful week, all right, and it ended with Lewis and the Ravens beating the punchless San Diego Chargers 24-10 on Sunday.
