September 17, 2003 -- THE Jets are treading dangerous, deep waters.
Since the moment the Giants Stadium clock struck :00 on their loss to the Dolphins Sunday, leaving the Jets in an 0-2 hole, the mantra coming from the players in the Jets' locker room has had this theme to it in varying forms: We've been here before and we've proven we can overcome a slow start.
Certainly, through only two games of the season, you don't want the Jets showing panic about a lost season.
However, using the fact that they've climbed out of poor-start holes the last two seasons to advance to the postseason cannot be used by players as a crutch, as if it's magically going to happen for a third consecutive year.
