Could the Bills bring back the wishbone?

Default power set: Campbell and Moore in at TE with McGahee and Henry split in the backfield. Moulds wide.

Package 2: Substitute Reed for Moore/Campbell

Package 3: Substitute Crosby/Burns for McGahee / Henry.

There's our power running game. It could happen towards the end of the season if McGahee comes back.

It would be a dream come true to see both McGahee and Henry both on the field at the same time.
LA needs a football team so that I can watch a Bills game live.

        That will NEVER happen, ever.
Leads? Yeah, sure. I'll...uh...just check with the boys down at the crimelab. Yeah, they got four more detectives on the case....we're working in shifts!"

I wouldn't be shocked to see a split backfield later in the year with a few swing passes a la Thurm and Ronnie Harmon in 1988-1989. A true wishbone with 3 backs? No.

I could see it, Henry, Gash, McGahee, or even Morris in there. An ideal set up on a 4th and 1 near the 50 would be a McGahee/Henry, Gash, Crosby Wishbone backfield. That would certainly make things intresting.

Until the current offense begins to fail, I see no need to make any changes.

Wishbone offenses are a joke in the NFL.

                    1) Bledsoe would get killed. Most Coaches don't want their QB's, even Mike Vick, to get a helmet in the chest on every other running play.

                    2) NFL defenses would destroy the wishbone. The Wishbone removes most threats of any passing attack. Teams would stack 8-9 men in the box.

                    3) Wishbone defenses are great if you are in HS or college without much QB Talent or passing attack. Many HS and colleges don't have the combination of a QB that can read defenses AND hit long passes with accuracy , along with WR's that catch most balls their way. So, at a lot of these schools, they run the ball 75% of the time or more.

                    5) HS and most Colleges don't have LB's that possess 4.5 speed.

                    6) Wishbone offenses are very simple - easy for a kid to understand. No 200 play playbook

                    7) Turnovers. It has the potential to be a fumble waiting to happen on the QB option play.

The last time the wishbone was run in the NFL was during the strike, by Bill Walsh with replacement players vs the Giants. Even Bill Parcells laughed his ass off.

The last time it was used by non-strike NFL players was in the 1950's. If it was viable at all, trust me teams would use it.

The last thing on a goal line situation to have is penatration by the other team's linemen or LBs. Give me another tackle at the end of the line who has 125 lbs more muscle than another half back.

The wishbone has gone the way of th Dodo bird, forever, atleast in the NFL.

Hey Winfield_26, I'm not bustin yer chops or anything here, but the draft has been over for a while now, so you might not need that Draft countdown anymore.
