Jacksonville came into this game determined to stuff the run and take away the power game. They were extremely successful in this endeavor, holding Travis Henry to 25 yards on 21 carries- and the entire Bills team to a paltry 43 for the game. Jacksonville also had success running the ball to the tune of 90 yards in 3 quarters of play- that and not allowing a single turn over should have been a recipe for success.

Fat Chance. Bledsoe took everything the Jaguars gave him, throwing for 2 TDs and an astonishing 144.2 QB Rating. Eric Moulds, Bobby Shaw, and even Josh Reed toyed with the Jags and did what they wanted when they wanted. Reed seems to have shaken off the New England game making some tough catches...........MORE...

Dolphins Report

Post Mortem:

As the clock ran out on Sunday afternoon's 21-10 Dolphin victory over the Jets, a collective sigh of relief could be heard from South Florida. It was by no means the prettiest victory in team history, but it was just that, a victory. After last week's debacle at home versus the Texans, a win is a win. Some embarrassing statistics still hang over the Dolphins head however; after they fly home with their first win of the year. Miami did not score a single point in the second half and the secondary again looked very suspect surrendering 373 passing yards to the 39-year-old Vinny Testevarde.

The good news is that there were signs of the team everyone expected them to be in the pre-season. Ricky Williams banged and bruised his way to 125 yards as the Jets mustered up a measly 21 yards rushing as a team. Chris Chambers, for the second straight week, looked incredible, making acrobatic catches and coming up with big plays in the first half that allowed the Dolphins to get all the separation they needed in the first 2 quarters. Fiedler was consistent, only missing on 5 passes and rushing one touchdown in by himself. The Dolphins showed signs of a very strong team but were unable to maintain that level of play for all 4 quarters. The most important thing though, is that the Fins have broken into the win column, taken steps in the right direction, and are now looking ahead to maintaining that through a tough game with Buffalo Sunday night before heading into a bye week.....MORE....

Jets Report

Post Mortem-
For the third consecutive year, the Jets are making their fans green- not with envy- but with motion sickness. The Jets pulled out of their nosedives then, but this time around it’s look for the parachutes.

Just as in week 1, the Jets played a woeful first half burying their chances at victory. On offense, the Jets again struggled with simply running the ball as Curtis Martin continued to look more like Dean Martin stumbling around the stage in a bad Vegas act. On the flip side, Ricky Williams and the Fins offense regained some lost confidence after suffering an embarrassing week 1 loss to the expansion Texans. Williams outran Martin 125-32. If you can’t run, and stop the run, it’s all over. Is it Martin? Not really- the offensive line is in disarray- and they haven’t recovered yet from the loss of Guard Randy Thomas to the evil Dan Snyder and the Jetskins........MORE...

Post Mortem-
Nothing like a nice PHILLY CHEESE STEAK! And the Pats got more then that with a responding whack on the Eagles to a tune of 31-10. After the shocker in Buffalo, ANY win would be good, but this was more then asked for. Brady responded by throwing 3 TD passes and for lighting up a depleted but talented Eagle secondary. A mix of predictable screens, slants, screens, passes to the Tight Ends, and more screens did Philly in. Branch led the way for the receivers with 82 yards and a TD.

The real winner of the day was the recharged defense. Teddy Bruschi received player of the week honors with 4 pass deflections, 6 tackles, and an INT for a TD. The Pats AS A TEAM DEFLECTED OVER 20 passes!!!!!!!!! WOW! The Pats collected 5 turnovers which was the telling point of the game. Also the D sacked McNabb 7 times which is a game high for him. However, the loss should be put on coach Andy Reid as he needs to learn to run the ball more vs. a team that ran blitz/coverage combo’s all day long....MORE....
