    Bucs' McCardell fined $12,500

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Tampa Bay receiver Keenan McCardell was fined $12,500 by the NFL for two illegal blocks, including one that sidelined Carolina lineman Kavika Pittman for the rest of the season.

McCardell said Friday the blocks were legal and he has filed an appeal of the fine.

Tillman, a second-round draft pick by the Buffalo Bills three years ago, will take the roster spot of defensive end Kavika Pittman, who suffered a season-ending knee injury in Sunday's 12-9 overtime win against Tampa Bay.
