Going to my first hockey game October 13th

I'm not a real big fan of hockey. Actually I find it pretty boring on TV but I figured I'd give it a shot and go up to a game. I heard it's a lot better in person.

The excitement of being at a hockey game is unparalelled by any sport due to the atmosphere, the goal horn, the huge jumbotron, and the high noise level.

There is absolutely nothing like it.

That's great, BillsFever! Who are you going to go see? Do you have a favorite team at all?

I'm not even that big of a fan of hockey let alone having a favorite team.

I think it's Dallas that's playing. I'm not positive though.

I've wanted to see a game live the last couple of seasons but never made it up. I knew some people going up so I decided to check it out then. Who knows maybe I'll become a fan of hockey

I've never watched an entire hockey game in my life.

It can be fun. I went to a few games the year the Sabres went to the Cup Finals. Then we made it to the home opener the following year when they raised the banners.

                  The unofficial No Goal banner

It is absolutely better in person. It's too bad all of my hockey viewing life has taken place inside the San Josè Arena, the home of the Sharks.

i'll be going to the Lightning games when the Sabres come to town in March. My son loves going to hockey games even more than NFL games. And he has been well trained to root for the Sabres loud and proud.

BillsFever, the arena beers enhance your experience tremendously. If youre not a big fan, a game in October can be a drag. The arena beers will help ya out. They put some sort of magic pixie dust in there. Youre ****faced by the end of two of them.

i'm moving to san francisco in november and I was pissed to see that the Sabres don't play in San Jose this year...not too mention the fact that they don't play Washington in October (where I live now)...i'm so desperate to see a game sometime this year that I may drive to Philly for the opener!
