    Chargers suspend Boston for Raiders game

    Chargers wide receiver David Boston has been suspended for a single game and will not play in Sunday's contest against the Raiders for "conduct detrimental to the team," head coach Marty Schottenheimer said.


    He will not be paid for the game in Oakland. The wide receiver signed a $47 million contract in March and has already missed another game, the season's second, with a bruised heel.

    David Boston stood in front of reporters Monday and apologized for the behavior that got him suspended for a game by San Diego Chargers coach Marty Schottenheimer.

    Boston did not deliver the same message to his winless team as a whole.

        Apologetic Boston: 'I let my teammates down'

        David Boston stood in front of reporters Monday and apologized for the behavior that got him suspended for a game by San Diego Chargers coach Marty Schottenheimer.

        Boston did not deliver the same message to his winless team as a whole.

        The wide receiver, whose $47 million contract is the largest in team history, made a 37-second statement following practice. With the consent of the organization, he refused to take questions.
