He hopes learning English, fresh style of play translates into success

(September 26, 2003) — BRIGHTON — General manager Darcy Regier admitted over the summer that if the Buffalo Sabres could go back in time, they very likely would not have brought Jiri Novotny into pro hockey last season.

While Novotny has great skills, he really wasn’t, at age 19, ready to play with the Rochester Americans in the American Hockey League.

Novotney looks to be an exciting player in the future, just give him time to grow and mature.

Both Novotny and Ryan will be fun prospects to keep an eye on.
