From Mort's ESPN chat:

Ted Rome, Ga: Is Willis McGahee going to get to play this year? How is his rehab going?

Chris Mortensen: McGahee's rehab is going extremely well. He will play this year. I expect him to be getting carries by early November and Travis Henry's performance will probably dictate how many carries.

I can't wait to see what he has to offer.

Well, I like Mort well enough, but for some time to come, WMG gets to park in the spots that Rix has been hoggin' :D

This isn't as good as the guy who asked for Norv Turner to be your HC this year once you fired GW

I would love to see Willis run. I just want him to be 100% when he does.

Willis is eligible to practice October 13. Think the Buffalo media won't be all over it when he starts practicing?

But if the line is opening holes, will he be any better than TH, who when given a hole is really good imho. plus he's tough to bring down. Other than his ribs, I think his ankle\leg problem is still bothering him. ..just not saying anything about it.

I hope he isn't being hurried onto the field because of TH playin bad. (gulp) I agree with MD. The line is the problem.

I'd be worried about Willis getting killed before he gets back to 100%. We need to get Pucillo out of there and get a real guard quick.

Early November is around week 8 or 9, so McGahee will be eligible to play too. That isn't too hard of a prediction to make though.

MD is right and this is Travis's time now, if TH can do what we know he is capable of doing and we can get the line to perform then McGahee seeing considerable playing time will probably not happen. I would love to know how much pressure TH is feeling knowing that McGahee's behind him and the national media just waiting for a miscue by TH for the "will the Bills start Willis" banter to begin...that has to weigh on his mind, I just hope that it does not effect his performance.

I hope McGahee plays this year. However, this year he may not look good. Players that got hurt like he did usually need a season of play to get back to form. TH needs to do a better job.

If McGahee turns out to be better than henry witch is still a big ?. It may be easier for the line. A better running back can do things on his own which will take a load off the OL but thats just my opion?

For real, that's what separates good backs from great backs.
Good backs find holes.
Great backs create holes.

Burns is a very capable back. Gilbride is the main problem and Ruel better fix this OL. If this is the way it's gonna be, send Ruel back to the Packers. Last years OL was bettter than the one we saw the last 2 games.

Imagine if Henry gets benched and McGahee starts...sounds just like the situation with the Cougars in Playmakers.
