Seriously when you watch a team like the Carolina Panthers or the Tampa Bay Bucs, their d-lines get in the qb's face everytime, and that scares qb's into making rushed decisions or taking a sack. If our d-line continues to let qb's sit back in the pocket and pick their recievers, then our dee will continue to struggle on dee. Our defense can make plays, but in order to produce consistent results, Denney, Adams, and Pat Williams need to get to the qb.

I haven't seen Schoebel put too much pressure on either.

What's going on here? Our D was supposed to be 100% improved. All the talk about having a pass rush now so that our DBs can make more plays has gone out the window. There was 1 sack yesterday. No pressure on Kitna all day. Isn't Posey supposed to be a sack specialist? Is McKenzie doing anything at all?

If we couldn't stop Cincy's offense, we can't stop anybody. Forget about Washington and KC. We'll get slaughtered.

I can see it now:

No pass D, can't stop offenses, fall behind early, play catch all game, no more running game, all on Drew's shoulders....

Does this sound familiar????

I am gonna go out on a limb here and say from the little bit Edwards was in yesterday for the slightly injured Adams, he got into the backfield and chased the QB a few times.

I also noticed that too Pride I think Edwards really turned the corner this offseason and is showing quite a bit of improvement.

Remember, too, that Adams is generally in the game when the probability is high that the opposition willl run. JG LOVES situational substitutions as much as his mentor/wet nurse GW. Take Adams off, they'll run. Keep him in, they'll throw. Does the coaching staff consider that the opposition might be analyzing OUR tendencies? It doesn't look it.

I'd like to be the proverbial fly on the wall to see if situtional substutions occur in the GW/KG domestic scene...

Our defensive ends are the problem. Schoebel is ovverrated at best. He gets all his sacks against weaker opponents and gets handled easily by average ones. His run stopping ability isn't bad, but it isn't great either.

I won't even get into how weak the LDE spot is. Whoever we line up next week wouldn't start for 30 other teams.
