I'm suprised at the lack of recognition that Lindell has gotten so far this year. He's kicked in some tough weather already (last week) and I think he's only missed one field goal this year (a really long one - 50 yards or so - against Philly if I remember correctly).

He seems to be getting good range on his kickoffs too.

I'm happy with him, and I think pretty much everyone else is too, but I think that he hasn't got many props yet b/c he hasn't exceeded what's been asked of him up to this point. I'm not saying he hasn't performed well, he just hasn't been in the position to be commended yet. He's doing everything he can so far, and doing it well.

He isnt any better then our last 2 kickers. He still isnt getting consistant touchbacks, and our previous 2 kickers could kick FG's just as well.

I wouldnt call him an upgrade...

No way. Hollis sucked a lot worse.

Maybe not consistent touchbacks but he does seem to get at least one per game. We haven't had that since Christie.

Remember the ball is kicked off from the 30 now. There are relatively few kickers in the NFL that can put the ball in the end zone with any knd of consistency. Hollis certainly wasn't one of them. I'd love to see Lindell kickoff into the endzone 50 - 60% of the time, but it ain't gonna happen. I'm happy with his work so far. He's not among the leaders in the NFL for kickers because he hasn't had as many attempts as other kickers, but that's not his fault. I think he is 3 of for so far this season and his one miss was a long attempt.

Actually he is 5 of 6, which is pretty good.

I just haven't seen him put one through the uprights with the game on the line. Hollis did it several times last year. Other than that he's been rather mediocre.
