A strained left hamstring might not allow the linebacker to build upon his solid play at Jacksonville.

Linebacker Junior Seau did some light running during practice Thursday but said he still was unsure if he would play Sunday at Jacksonville.

''The trainers and I are doing everything possible to go out there and play Sunday,'' Seau said before practice.

Seau, listed as questionable with an injured left hamstring, was on the field during practice but did not wear shoulder pads. He said the only work he would do is ``some things that the hamstring can handle.''

Coach Dave Wannstedt said if Seau doesn't practice today, he probably won't start. However, Seau may be active even if he can't start. Seau said if he doesn't play Sunday, he is expected to be healthy for the following game Oct. 19 against New England.

''The risk of pushing the injury right now is something we're going to have to decide,'' said Seau, who had 16 tackles Sunday against the Giants.
