Vick should sit remainder of the season

He's supposed to jog. Then he's not supposed to jog, but only if you don't count whatever he is planning to do on a treadmill.

Well, if he does get on a treadmill.

Although he isn't limping for the first time since breaking his right leg eight weeks ago, he still can't run. He can't apply pressure on his toes.

If he can't run, he can't practice. If he can't practice, he can't play.

When will he play? Nobody knows. Wasn't there something about Mike Vick making his seasonal debut Monday night in St. Louis? Uh-huh. How about the next week at home against the New Orleans Saints? Doubtful. Maybe he'll return two weeks later, when the Falcons face the Philadelphia Eagles after a bye.

Maybe he'll shoot for one of those December games at the Georgia Dome against the Carolina Panthers or the Jacksonville Jaguars.

There isn't a maybe about this: Given the confusion about Vick's healing process, combined with another set of Dirty Birds becoming Dodo Birds, he shouldn't play again until 2004. Then, after the Falcons get more folks who can block well enough to keep either of Vick's legs from getting broken again, he should resume his role at quarterback next season as a wonderful blur

Re Vick. I've also heard the conflicting reports. If I recall, the damage was similar to what Culpepper had last year albeit more severe. Agree 100% about him sittin' this year for the reasons you state.
