Hello young and old and I would like to welcome you all to Darryl's prediction thread where every guess is a good guess!

Last season the competition was tight over at Thunderpuck, but sadly all our information was lost when our forum was prematurely deleted...

This season is a brand new start and a time to reintroduce the rules...

The object is to predict the score of the game that night and whoever is the closest wins...

If there is a tie the winning guess will go to the one that was posted first...

The wins will be recorded for the purpose of raising self esteem levels of the winners...

So guess now and good luck!

You guys didn't leave me much.

Since David said 3-2 (OT), I'm going to say 3-2 (regulation). That's different enough, right? ; )

David Deboudt

anyway, I have a proof that you said 3-2 since you wrote it in your pregame ;)

Anyway, there are still some possibilities... anyone wants to predict 8-0 for the Sabres... hey, I'm not kidding, that may happen again !!!

Let's put more precisions into that... add the name of the scorers and assistants for the Sabres!

Satan (Drury, McKee)
Brown (Afinogenov)
Drury (Zhitnik, Satan)

you may have been number one, but how many wins did you have?

If we get tons of predictions, I may complicate the process by adding players who get points...

Ok......our tiebreaker will be WHO scores the OT winner......

I say Andy Delmore

David Deboudt

I figure, 4-2 Sabres.

Satan and Briere both start off on a good foot with goals. Miller comes away with 24+ saves. :)

Damn, I missed the first one of the year.

I think we should clear the slate, and start fresh.

The Winner is Rhett4NHL...

All teams, except mine, had the same scoring ratio for the two teams, Shane one because his post occurred first and that he actually guessed the right Flyers score...

Better luck next game!

Current Standings:
1st Place- Rhett4NHL (1 win)

I don't understand how Rhett won! he guessed a Sabres win 3-2 in regulation, no body guessed Philly to win

pyrrhonist

He didn't pick the winner of the game.....Why did he get it right again??

Myers57
10-10-2003, 06:48 PM
Shane was the only one besides me who guessed one of the teams correct scores.

I guessed 4-2, Rhett picked 3-2; he was closer.

Everybody else was as close as Rhett was for the score, but Rhetts score of 2 points for the Flyers in regulation was the deciding factor.

If anybody is still confused just ask...

Ok---But part of picking results is deciding who is the winner. I realize this isn't for anything real, but I still don't see how he got it right since he didn't say Philly was going to win.

i have an idea, if you guess the correct scorers, each is worth 2 points.

3-1 Buffalo win

Satan, Drury and Rob Ray, LOL it will be Mair.

Myers57

nobody decided Philly to win, therefore I went to the next closest score which was Rhett because he was the only one that guessed one of the teams scores right (besides me) and there was a system to it:

Rhett: Guessed 3-2, actual= 0-2, he was 3 points off the total score by guessing the Sabres to have 3 points

Darryl: Guessed 4-2, was 4 points off final score

keepdasabesinbuf: guessed 3-1, was 4 points off, needed to add 1 point to flyers score and subtract 3 from Sabres

Dave: 3-2 (OT), same score as Shane but did not go into OT

Makeveli- 2-1, 3 points off, needed to subtract 2 from sabres score and add 1 to flyers

Shelby: 1-0 Sabs, 3 pts off, needed to subtract 1 from sabs and add 2 for flyers

please feel free to ask if you are still confused...

The easiest way to do this would be everyone put some zonebucks into a pot for each guess, and guess the right score and winner.

If there is no winner, roll it over into the next game. That's what they do on the football side.

I would have to have Mod support if I did that but it is not a bad idea....

Mods?
