If you went to bed Sunday night with visions of either Koy Detmer or A.J. Feeley dancing in your head, we advise you to immediately wake up.

It's not happening.

When the Eagles pull into Giants Stadium for their third straight NFC East game on Sunday against the New York Giants, Donovan McNabb will still be the starting quarterback.

Andy Reid confirmed it yesterday during his day-after-the-Dallas-defeat news conference at the NovaCare Complex. Asked if he has considered benching the quarterback, the coach did not hesitate with his answer.

"No," he said. "I think he's fine. He'll continue to push forward. This guy is a competitor. There is nobody who wants to win more than Donovan McNabb. I don't worry about all that. He's going to keep firing, and he's going to be fine."

McNabb obviously is not fine.
