Sapp fined $50,000 for ref abuse

NEW YORK (AP) -- The NFL fined Tampa Bay defensive lineman Warren Sapp $50,000 on Tuesday for mistreating officials and threatened him with a suspension if his behavior doesn't improve.

NFL director of game operations Peter Hadhazy issued the fine after reviewing Sapp's conduct in three games. Hadhazy said any further misconduct will result in a suspension of at least one game.

Before last Sunday's game against Washington, Sapp bumped into an official as he entered the field.

I've always hated Sapp. Ever since we kicked him and his little Canes butts at the 1995 Orange Bowl. He's nothing more than a loud mouthed fat ass. Between this incident and his skipping through the Colts players during warm-up a week ago monday, I hope he learns to shut the hell up.

Sapp seethes about NFL's $50,000 fine

TAMPA - Bucs defensive tackle Warren Sapp drew a costly penalty from the NFL Tuesday.

The league fined Sapp $50,000 for repeated abusive conduct toward officials and threatened to suspend him if his behavior doesn't improve.

NFL director of game operations Peter Hadhazy issued the fine after a review of three incidents this season involving Sapp and game officials. In a tersely worded letter to Sapp released by the league, Hadhazy said further misconduct will result in a suspension of at least one game.

Sapp To Fight Fine NFLPA Calls Excessive

TAMPA - As expected, DT Warren Sapp will appeal the league's $50,000 fine for his treatment of on-field officials.
The appeal will be made through the NFL Players Association, which will argue that Sapp's fine came without proper warning and was excessive.

``This was a first offense for Warren,'' NFLPA spokesman Carl Francis said. ``There are other players who have had incidents and not been fined as much as Warren was. We support Warren 100 percent.''

Day after fine, NFL gives Sapp a show

TAMPA - The NFL may not like what Warren Sapp is saying to game officials, but that hasn't stopped it from making the Bucs defensive tackle the co-host of a weekly talk show on its signature network.

Sapp, who was fined $50,000 Tuesday for mistreating officials, will appear with Giants defensive end Michael Strahan each Thursday night beginning Nov. 6 on NFL Total Access.

Sapp and Strahan will broadcast via remote from their team headquarters, discussing and debating the league's hot topics on the premier show of the NFL Network, carried initially on DIRECTV.

Chidi Ahanotu, who played the first eight seasons of his NFL career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, took a lot of pleasure in the 49ers' victory Sunday.
                  ....

"It's a little-known fact, I really don't like the guy," Ahanotu said. "I think the league will be better off once he retires. He's a big buffoon. He's ignorant, man ... He's a dancer. He's a fading star; he's trying to hold on. Give him some pom-poms."

How anyone could compare playing professional football to an evil institution like slavery is beyond me. But Sapp has escaped his offensive comments with little or no backlash whatsoever from the liberal media, whereas, a staunch conservative and white man, Rush Limbaugh, was viciously attacked for saying something far less offensive.

                    I actually agree.
