All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
its only fair that we give GW some credit for this win
Originally posted by Billzz Some being the key. They called a pretty solid game on both sides of the ball but the difference is the execution from the players was there.
Reed came to play which was a breathe of fresh air.
I still get amazed at this place. If they would have lost it would have been Williams sucks he can't get these guys to play, there was no execution! Yes the players executed and GW gets credit for that too!
I'll give credit to the coaches for a very nice play call on that Antonio Brown Reverse early. However- Gregg and Kevin continue to try to be too "cute" with that ridiculous second half QB sneak call on 2nd and 20!!!!
Result- Bledsoe Fumble.
I have beat this drum all season. Trick plays are a matter of
1- timing
2- momentum
3-execution
The Antonio Brown call met and exceeded these 3 criteria. It was early and we snagged momentum. But if you are leading in the game and driving- why try a QB sneak - that would get what- 8-10yards if it was a SUCCESS???? Result- potential momentum swing for the Skins. Lucky for us we were playing the NFC version of the Bills this week.

So what's your point! The coaches and players meet all the time. I don't think GW did much differant in preparing for this week than anyother week. Yes the Bills have been bad this year and that the coaches and the players fault. The Bills have been really good this year and that to is the coaches and palyers fault. The only differanceis GW takes the heat for a bad game and get nothing from some people when the win.
You can't just say it's him when they lose and the players when they win! Let's be real!
If the players need to hold a special meeting it means the COACHING staff isn't getting it done. Read between the lines.
You think a Bill Parcell's, Marv Levy or hell Wanstat coached teams ever hold a player only meeting to get motivated? No cause the coaching staff keeps them focused and the goals firmly laid infront of them.
He had swat team security escorting him around all day. They even rerecorded the Public Service Spot for reading with Brian Moorman, so as not to have booing in their own stadium.
The decision to cut him loose at the end of the year has probably already been made.
Agreed...this win had very little to do with the Bumble Twins (GW/KB). Say what you will, but it was mostly due to the Skins' ineptness and some dumb luck (e.g., the Gash-Shaw completion, Ramsey's fumble near the goal, etc.)
Not saying the Bills' *players* don't deserve any credit - even the TV crew said they noticed Buffalo's intensity. But the Bumble Twins made about 2 good calls and the rest was a result of the Skins' problems. If they can do this for 2-3 more games *consistently*, only then will I really believe they are back on track. Even then, the Bumble Twins need to go. They will not get us to the Promised Land. THAT I can guarantee with 110%. They just don't have what it takes coaching-wise (can't motivate or game plan well enough) Problem is that if we make it to 9-7 I just hope TD has the cohones to still fire them.
Yes. The coaches do deserve some credit...they stayed out of the players way. They called a good game on both sides of the ball and let the players play. They called one trick play and it worked...a good job all around.
that being said...this was the Redskins. Ramsey looked terrible. Their OL is guard-less and the defensive line looked bad. The Bills win. I will give them their do but they did not exactly beat a contender. It was a much needed win. If the play calling continues like this and they play to this level (they could still get rid of some of the penalties) then they have a legit chance in many games...but one worrisome factor was that they were destroying the Redskins in yardage and were only leading 10-7...good boost coming right back and scoring on the next drive.
For all the education and practice each of us undergoes, the achievment of mastery is ultimately the outcome of a personal quest for understanding.
Yeah, it was nice, but it worked out *that* time. Again it was a risky, cute play. They had been running over the Skins and didn't need to get cute. If it hadn't worked we'd all be screaming yet again. And that QB draw on 2 and 20....I almost thew up. But those plays prove they don't know how to call a game in the long run.
IMO, the only great call was the draw play to Henry on 2nd or 3rd down on the Bills' 30 (3rd quarter I think) when the blitz came. He ripped off 20+ yards before they could react. Even then however, I'm not even sure KB called it...could have been an audible.
